Hey Erik, read your article on Forbes, and it's REALLY hard to comment without getting spoilerific. I have various theories about where the show is going, with Spencer's ill-conceived attempt to exit Alexandria being a nod to events from the comics (there's a VERY similar scene in those). But I don't want to comment further without knowing how familiar you are with the comics.
And don't write Eugene off. I saw his distraction during Rosita's training as him noticing something wasn't quite right with the watch-tower. Again, hard to comment without spoiling things, but he's a VERY important character. I'm surprised they haven't explored his depths further yet.
Finally, while I can understand people not lamenting the death of Nicholas, I found it a shame, as while he was a despicable coward, his character and portrayal thereof was one of the most interesting things in the show. I hope the actor goes on to greater things.
