In Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, or TOS, the nerves and/or blood vessels in this small space become compressed. This can lead to nerve symptoms such as tingling or circulation issues such as cold fingers. Patients often complain they feel a heaviness to their arms, especially when working or lifting overhead. As the weather starts to cool down, we hear complaints of pain and swelling. Typically those arthritic joints start to flare up as the temperature drops. MC stands for carpal-metacarpal joint and this joint is located at the base of the thumb where your thumb meets your wrist. This is a common location for arthritis since our thumbs are required for functioning: http://www.lbhandtherapy.com/first-signs-cmc-arthritis/ #arthritis
