Please help; we need your vote!! This coming spring I will be in an exhibition of artists making work about invisible disabilities; the link below includes more information about the show, titled "Invisable:VisAble." There is an organization offering small grants for artist projects, and the curator of this exhibition has applied for one to help cover the costs of producing the show. It's not going into our pockets; this grant would help cover the costs of the show itself and the public programming planned in conjunction with it.

Today is the last day of voting and the second place project has gotten very near to overtaking us. You do not have to register for anything, and you may only vote once, so a few seconds of your time is all it takes.  And if you'd share this to help get the word out that would be super great. I and the other artists would hugely appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Please sign our petition to have Ruth Stanford's censored artwork reinstated. We want President Papp to do the right thing, and reinstate the work with an apology. The museum cannot fulfill its role in the art community if there is a precedent that curatorial authority can be overturned by a unilateral administrative decision.

This work was commissioned by the museum for the exhibit and should be a part of it. Please sign and share.

The new Zuckerman Museum at Kennesaw State University opens tomorrow, now with the shadow of censorship over it. I find it highly ironic that the stated reason for this censorship was to protect the celebratory atmosphere of the opening from controversy, because this has only created a much larger amount of controversy and drawn a lot more attention to the underlying issues.

This was 100% an administrative decision to remove Ruth Stanford's artwork from the show, and is in no way a curatorial decision. The curators specifically commissioned this work and were aware of its content. It's a real shame the administration wasn't exercising proper oversight along the way and doing their due diligence to remain informed. Kind of like they didn't do their due diligence before accepting the donation of land that is associated with an ugly racist past, which they are now trying to cover up by removing the art work that engages that issue.

This was a great opportunity for dialogue, and instead of owning it, KSU is embarrassing themselves with this ultimately futile attempt at suppression. This action is not at all in line with the new museum's stated mission of encouraging a laboratory-like environment for art experimentation, and has seriously undermined the institution's credibility before it even opens.

TONIGHT at WonderRoot! Bring us your photographs, get someone else's in return. With one simple exchange you are both an exhibiting artist AND a collector. How cool is that?

An increasing number of photographs are made every day, but most of them disappear when the computer or phone is turned off. This October, come share your photos offline, and get something you can put on an actual wall. Leave a photograph you took, and take someone else’s in return.

How to participate in four easy steps:

1. Photograph something.
Use any camera you like. The tool isn’t important, the image is. (Please be respectful of the fact that WonderRoot is all an all-ages community center.)

2. Make a print.
Make a print no larger than 8" x 10". For places to have prints made see our website at takeaphotoleaveaphoto.com

3. Bring it to WonderRoot.
Any time from Oct 10–31, noon–10pm on Mon, Tue, Th, Fri, Sat. There will be a pre-show collection period Sep 27–Oct 7 for photographs to hang during the opening reception on Oct 10th.

4. Get a photo in return.
For every photograph you submit during the show’s duration you may choose one of someone else’s in return.

After you’ve participated in the show, share your experience tagged #TAPLAP to be included in our Storify stream. Show us what you submitted! Or, show us what you took; we’d love to see it in its new home. Use the hashtag #TAPLAP on twitter, instagram, facebook, tumblr, flickr, G+, or even YouTube, and we’ll include your voice in the story.

See the website for more information!
