Service was very slow and lackluster, and the place wasn't even busy. I can't eat wheat, so I was excited to see they had GF buns and bread. I ordered a burger with a GF bun. The bun was hard as a rock and very stale (not just the normal rough texture of GF bread). So they brought me another one, and it was also totally stale. I gave up and ate the burger w/o a bun. I ordered it medium, but it was cooked to at least medium well, and it seemed like a pre-made beef patty. My friend got the buffalo chicken eggrolls as an appetizer, and he loved them. But his entire plate of fish and chips was covered with a heavy sprinkling of seasoned salt, which baffled him. Also, the fish was several small chunky end pieces (all oddly shaped like cones) instead of a big piece or two of fish filet. I assumed this place would have a full bar, but I was wrong: beer and wine only. They had no GF beer, and I'm not a wine drinker, so I had diet Coke instead of the mixed drink I wanted. Minor disappointment. All in all, I won't be coming back.

We go to Frankenmuth a couple of times a year (we live in Grand Rapids) and the Brewery is a must every time. We can get the beer over on this side of the state, but I really enjoy the whole experience of eating at the restaurant and brewery. The only criticism I would have is that I would like to see more German-style meals offered than just the sausage plate. Otherwise the menu is pretty good and the beers are great too. During the summer months when we visit, we like to sit out on the veranda which gives us a great view of Frankenmuth and the Cass River. A very nice tableau.

Wonderful restaurant with excellent hand crafted beer. If its a nice day make sure to sit outside and overlook the river. Love the pizza, and especially the buffalo chicken egg rolls. Best food in downtown Frankenmuth, and some of the best beer in the state.

Had the bratwurst sandwich at lunch, and so did my girlfriend. We weren't expecing much honestly. We expected maybe a grilled Johnsonville or something. What a total and wonderful surprise to have a locally made (I think by the brewery itself) lean and non fatty bratwurst , sauerkraut with carroway, and a spectacular homemade (at the brewery) mustard. , all paired with a Frankenmuth Dunkel. And the onion rings....well, those were beer battered (with their black and tan) and had a sweet taste that had to be tried to be believed. Truly spectacular. The whole experience was wonderful. I never understood beer pairing until now. They nailed it, spot on. My girlfriend can't stand dark beer. Even she liked the pairing. She couldn't believe how the flavors complimented each other. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing. And the waitstaff went out of their way to make sure we were happy, even giving us a smalll sample of the mustard to take home. I will definitely be back. ( oh, I bought a 48 oz growler , and the refill it for $10, $5 on wednesdays :-) ) Plus we, got the tour. And paid $19.00 for a case ( 24 beers) of their really good Irish Ale. It was on sale lol :-)

Sister lives in Frankenmuth and took me here when I visted. As a huge craft beer lover, I didn't know what to expect when I walked in the door. I had never heard of the Frankemuth Brewery before, being from Illinois. But as soon as my lips hit the first taste of their Batch 69 IPA, I fell in love. I sampled the rest of their beers and was blown away by how amazing they were. The food and service were also incredible. I can honestly say that the Frankenmuth Brewery carries all of my top 5 favorite beers and is my favorite restaurant. I can't wait to visit my sister more so I can travel to the Frankenmuth Brewery again!
