I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your patronage this year.

2016 has been a great year of innovations and growth for Servitel. This could not have been accomplished without our team, our vendors and most of all, our customers.

There has been updates and changes by Mitel and Fortinet throughout the year. These changes have identified and addressed the ever growing mobility and security requirements of today.

MiTeam is probably one of my favourite software releases this year. I now have every project we are working on, on my mobile. Every communication, document, team members (internal and external) it has just made my life easier to manage the scores of projects we have.

Servitel continued its “Eat your own dog food” policy by implementing FortiMail and FortiWeb through our network. I must say, I do love the FortiMail. After the initial learning time frame, my spam mail has been reduced to almost nothing.
Cyber Threat has been increasingly topical this year. The quote of “ There are only two types of business, one that has been hacked and one that will be hacked” is a confronting statement.

Recently we ran the Fortinet Cyber Threat Assessment software on our own and parent networks and apart from confirming Pokémon Go is the number one used app played on the Wi-Fi network, it was fascinating to see where attempts to get into our system was coming from. It was also good to see none of these attempts were successful.

We have continued our sponsorship with the Canberra Cavalry for the 2016/17 season. I do recommend everyone who can, get to a game. It is a great fun environment on game day and you just can’t go past the waffle fries served in a baseball helmet.

Personally, I continued to be involved with the GL Giants Football Club as a coach and board member and this year, Servitel also became a sponsor of the club. This has been so much fun to be part of and I am really proud of my under 8's team. They grew as a team, their skills improved each match and even if they do not officially score, they were unbeaten this year. Look out AFL world, here come the Giants.

This year I participated in the Mystery Box Rally. An event to raise funds for the Cancer Council Australia by having a team drive in the South Australian outback in an unknown car to unknown destinations over 2500kms. This was one of the best experiences I have had the pleasure being part of. And I do need to thank all that donated to my team, The Lug Nuts. With your help, this event raised over $850,000 for the Cancer Council. Both Servitel and Aerial Capital Group were proud sponsors of the team.

You can read more about the adventure on our The Lug Nuts - Mystery Box Challenge page, Servitel website or the CabBerra magazine. Or invite me to the pub and I can regale you with the adventure.

And next year we have more coming.
In February we will have our official launch of ServiAir, our hosted wireless service and this will provide flexibility in your wireless networks, similar to the MiVoice platform.
And make sure you check out our webpage as it gets a facelift in February.,
We have new web applications currently being built and tested but I cannot talk more about that yet. Our CTO can be very secretive at times but I can tell you, it is very exciting.
We have new DC's coming onboard, new AS-A-Service product releases and a growing portfolio of cyber security products.

All of this could not have been achieved without my team at Servitel, our core vendors, our carrier partners TPG Telecom and Spark.
A big congratulations to Hayden for winning the 2016 Employee of the Year.

Most of all, I want to say thank you to all of our customers.

We have a wide variety if customers, each with unique requirements and this has helped push our team into new areas , help us to continually assess and improve our technology and make sure they we are indeed ‘Keeping You Connected”.

Have a wonderful Christmas break. Enjoy the festive season and as I tell my team “ Play hard, play safe” and we will see you in 2017.
