Difficult to describe because it was so very SPECIAL!! Thank you to the manager, Shellie, and the lovely wait staff for making my 101 year old friend's birthday the most special she can remember. They had a beautiful bouquet on our booth with a beautiful note to her. They greeted her by saying her name, "Mildred," and wishing her a happy day. The lunch was delicious and when the bill came with a $0 on it, plus Shellie kneeling down to talk to her, I was overwhelmed by the kindness. I had a difficult time holding back my tears of gratitude. They made our day the best birthday we could have had for Mildred. I will tell the world about our experience, and I will go back often. Next year when Mildred is 102, we will go back to Zolo's. Thank you so much.

Dishes seem lost, different flavors on my plate but none complimented each other, matter of fact the food is just not that good. The only good thing about this place is the service. It was excellent. They might want to reevaluate the menu and being on some outside services to rate them.

Over done and over priced. Went back with friends and I think it has gotten worse

Went here for lunch today, we had the empanadas (which were fantastic!) Blue corn tamales with BBQ duck (also really good) and lime flan for dessert. Everything was very delicious and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Wait staff were very attentive and friendly.

Had the enchiladas (xmas), and the tamales with brisket. Both were excellent. The happy hour could be a little cheaper for drinks. Server was nice and made good recommendations. Overall good experience, and would return.

The good: We are from Ausitn Texas and are mexican food connoisseurs, have done countless salsa taste tests and Zolo's salsa sampler is up to par with some of Austin excellent mexican restaurants. This is saying a ton. The food also was tasty and compared to other mexican restaurants in Boulder, was a cut above the rest. The bad: Being from Austin and having worked as a bartender in a mexican restaurant back in the day, we are also margarita connoisseurs and although they had an amazing selection (the best in town) they didn't know how to do much with it. I tried two margaritas from their menu and they just lacked the taste of a good margarita because they couldn't get the combination of ingredients right. Then I had them just make one from my own ingredients and the waitress was reluctant to do it. Now I know why. It was worse than the menu margaritas. The worst: We had really bad experience with waitress. She basically ruined our experience because she was defensive when asking for basic things like silverwear or askng where are margaritas were. (it took more than 10 minutes to get our first drink order) Then after showing our frustration with the waitress repeated dissapointments. The manager came over and ask in a defensive voics "Is there a problem?" That made us uncomfortable because there was no geniuine question of curiosity to make something right, rather it felt like an excusatory "hey trouble makers, cool it". When we said the food was great but we are experiencing some anomolies with the waitress. He said, "Well I'm glad everything is great!" and left. WTF. Anyway, it was such a lousy experience when spent over $200 that we will never go back.
