We have our third cohort of our evidence based 8 week strong girls program running today. We have seen some brilliant stuff from our previous cohort's and have tied this into our ongoing tuesday girls club for graduates of The Strong Girls Course.

We have based the 8 week course from research and experience from our teams experience with elite level sports team down to high level adolescent performers.

Whilst we have sport in mind we have girls from varying backgrounds and abilities. The best thing we have noticed is that they have all gone on to being more active and have felt far more confident about exercise. Some great friends have developed along the way too!

We have just a few spots left in our 'Move Smart for Kids' program for term 4. If your child is between the ages of 8-12 years they might be perfect for this 6 week strengthening program focussing on a different foundational movement skill each week. Sessions are Tuesdays (3:45-4:45pm) and Saturdays (9-10am). Call the clinic with any questions or to book your child’s spot.

We undertake training within the Movement Team on several levels. One of our core ways we help train our team is that we set aside individual times each week to sit down with our team to help mentor and guide them both in physiotherapy and also to help out with designing and achieving personal goals.

Our therapists and team are the most important assets to our business and we do not believe in sacrificing their health, goals and dreams in order to push the business harder to make more money. Physio is human game not a numbers one. Our therapists create results for our clients and they need to be in tip top order to make sure this happens!

We make sure that our therapists are paid for this time and not snuck in breaks or lunch to make sure we show how much we value their time and energy.

Physiotherapy and recovery is far more than getting poked and prodded. Its about taking the whole person into account, their why's in life and also their aims and goals. To make sure we are on board with this we make sure we all are working on our own goals. Next time you are in ask Isabelle how her deadlift is going or her how her balcony garden cucumbers are growing (or any tips to help assist this;-) ). Jasleigh is a nomad at heart and loves to plan awesome trips to various parts of the world, or ask Chari about where she is going next with the Australian 7's side.

We pride ourselves on creating quality environments that allow people to obtain results. Thursday night is our Shoulder Rehab and Strength group. Small numbers, low cost and quality movement and exercise prescription delivered by experts that's fully health care rebatable.
Here Issy is warming up the group with some seated isolated external rotations to promote good use of the rotator cuff. Also tough when you slow down the tempo and add a little weight!

We love our Noi Group posters. They give us and or clients a great reminder that that language we use and the thoughts we have around pain have a profound affect on how we experience pain.
Our particular favourite is the one titled "Take Control". It fits in with our 4 core principals of understanding, what's the point, find a better way and get moving.

We always try to foster a team mentality at TMT. Its in our name :-) Something we do on a weekly basis is a joint case conference with a patient who has an interesting injury or someone we want to problem solve. This is done as a training exercise for us all and its free for the client involved.

Check out one of our over 35's players getting some work done on hamstring rehab with Chari leading the group through some different points on horizontal drive. Isabelle, Yanek, and Jasleigh also had input all to help progress the clients issue and all in all had a great time learning and developing a clear understanding about their injury.

The client was left with a clear action plan, obvious things to work on and full understanding on how he will recover. To boot he also is able to come in 3 times per week to work on his movement and strength for free as part of our client commitment of providing all the tools they need to recover.

We love our trades here at TMT. Also the Australian Physiotherapy Association is running #tradieshealth #dontignorethepain #tradietips for this month.

Check out Issy working with a young electrician- who despite using his body and being relatively mobile was unable to hold a reasonable front squat position. Also some weak hamstrings and decreased thoracic mobility (highlighted in the lack of front squat capacity) has lead to generalised lower back pain.

#Physiotherapy has involved basic movement re-education, working on the prerequisites and building up to strength training.
