I still have yet to go here. I worked at Superior Nut and Candy as the front Receptionist and on a hot summer day we would get a free sample pineapple or lemon flavor They were a customer of ours they would buy gummy bears for their italian ice. I miss that. a great place to work at.

Why does Mario's have so little reviews? Officially opened for the season, people really need to check out this Little Italy treat. They have classic flavors in addition to some strawberry and watermelon hybrids. We use to go here after school and on lazy summer nights. Order a small of yourself or a large to share, you won't be disappointed!

There's no better place in our city to experience frozen lemonade goodness. Their frozen watermelon/cantaloupe concoction never disappoints. It freezes my sternum. Feel free to read that again. I'm fairly certain that's not supposed to happen. It is the coldest thing I've ever eaten! It's as if they stuffed Antarctica into a cup. Do not pass up an opportunity to enjoy this rare Chicago treat.

Call me crazy but I love Mario's Italian Lemonade more than ice cream. I've been going here since I was a kid and now I go with my wife. It is a really refreshing treat on a hot summer day. There is always a line but it doesn't take long at all. Don't go if you don't know how to parallel park because parking is limited and tight in the neighborhood. It doesn't matter what flavor(s) you get they are all good. My favorite part of the slushy lemonades are the lemon zests in them. They are kind of chewy and the sour flavor complements the sweetness of the flavor you choose. Going here is a true Chicago tradition.

I love Mario's Italian Ice! This place is only open seasonally and the lines for this place go all the way down the block during those hot summer nights. It's well known in Chicago, and people drive here from all parts of town. They have the best fresh fruit flavors without anything artificial added, and it's cheap as well! You always find pieces of lemon rind or fruit in your cup. Every time I come here I seem to always run into someone I know. :) Fyi, this place is cash only.

This famous italian ice stand is open seasonally and is definatly worth a stop if you are in the area. Prices are reasonable for a tasty treat. They offer a variety of flavors from chocolate to watermelon. I believe this is cash only so come prepared!
