Hop Down to Torquay's Dinosaur World
From Saturday 29th April

Torquay's' Dinosaur World is proud to have been chosen as a partner by Stagecoach in their exciting new open-top bus service - Hop122.

Each brand new ‘Golden Hop’ bus in this service features a distinctive yellow livery with its own ‘bus hopper’ animal character. And each character is connected to different visitor attractions in Torbay.

Dinosaur World is hosting 'Chirpy the Cricket', and children can collect a sticker of 'Chirpy' from our exhibition and add it to a free sticker book that's available on the bus.

So hop to it from April 29th and visit us to collect your 'Chirpy the Cricket' sticker!

Dinosaur Easter Egg Hunt 2017
Saturday 1st April – Sunday 23rd April
Open daily 11am – last entry 3pm – close at 5pm

Visit the only dinosaur exhibition in south Devon during the Easter holidays for the rooaarsome Dinosaur Easter Egg Hunt.

Be a brave explorer to get close and personal with the dinosaurs, be a Palaeontologist to discover fascinating fossils, and be a Dinosaur Detective to find out who has been stealing the dinosaur eggs.

Use the clues to solve the mystery and win a special Easter Edition Dinosaur Expert Certificate, a selection of real 160 million-year-old fossils, and a chocolatey treat.

Plus, there will be an Easter Card competition. Enter by making your card in the craft room for a chance to win a Dinosaur World T Shirt and a Dinosaur Goodie Bag full of toys, models and fossils.

February Fossil Festival

Here are some of the brilliant explorers who have escaped the winter weather during February half term and visited Torquay’s Dinosaur World to take part in our fabulous February Fossil Festival.

Future palaeontologists can practice their excavation skills in our very own excavation sites to uncover and identify a variety of exciting different fossils.

Brave explorers can get up close and personal with dinosaurs: sit on a baby Triceratops or a full size Deinonychus, and even put head inside the jaw of a fossilised T-Rex skull.

You can also win a Dinosaur Expert Certificate and a FREE bag of 160 million year old fossils with our special Fossil Festival Quiz.

Fossil Workshop

Every day from 3pm we will hold a workshop about fossils (no extra charge), which will include a talk and demonstration, fossil crafts such as making your own fossils to take home, and the chance to help build a scale replica fossil of the mighty king of dinosaurs – Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Customers who visit earlier in the day can return free of charge, or you can time your visit for the afternoon and stay in the exhibition for the workshop.

Job Vacancy
Customer Service Assistant

Friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Customer Service Assistant required to join the team at Torquay’s Dinosaur World, an indoor dinosaur exhibition in Torquay to ensure the best possible experience.

Duties will include serving customers at all points – entrance, shop, and telephone, operating the tills, cash handling, and maintaining the presentation of the exhibition.

Full training will be given but the successful candidates:
• Must have a friendly outgoing manner, be enthusiastic, friendly and confident in dealing with visitors especially children
• Must have experience of working in customer service environment
• Must have a smart appearance
• Must have good verbal communication skills
• Must be flexible, reliable and conscientious in your approach to work
• Must understand how to work in a small team

Candidates must be able to work at least 6 days over February ½ term 9-day period, and there is the potential for more work during the school holidays at Easter, May ½ term and the summer. This is an ideal job for a student who is looking for work during holidays.

This a casual contract position so there is no guarantee of set hours per week. Do not apply if you cannot work as stated during February ½ term.

The deadline for application is 5pm Friday 3rd February, and interviews will be held on Friday evening. Must be available to start this weekend on either Saturday 4th and/or Sunday 5th February.

The role has an hourly rate of £7.50.

Book reading and signing of ‘Bradley and His Dinosaur’!!

Torquay’s Dinosaur World is proud to host a reading and singing with Julian Hilton of his children’s book ‘Bradley and His Dinosaur’ from 3.30pm on Sunday 18th December.
Local author Julian, says “Bradley and His Dinosaur is a picture book story for young children about a boy who finds a dinosaur in his garden and has a wonderful adventure with him. Bradley steps out in the garden to find a creature of the enormous kind. Wherever they go and whatever they see, Bradley must get back for tea."
Don’t miss out on the chance for your little dinosaur fan to meet the local author and get a signed copy of this acclaimed book.

Entry to the book reading and signing will be £5.95 per visitor but that also includes a Paleo Pass, which gives you FREE unlimited re-enter to Dinosaur World for 3 months. Alternatively, if you already have a Paleo Pass you can enter for FREE.

Working to Improve Dinosaur World

Hello Dinosaur Fans,
In order to carry out some essential maintenance and improve the exhibition experience for all the lovely dinosaur fans out there, Dinosaur World will be closed on the following week days over the next few weeks.

We will be closed on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th November, Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th December, and Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December.

Don’t worry about missing all the dinosaur fun though because we will be open on all the Saturdays and Sundays over that period from 11am, with a last entry time of 3 pm, and closure at 4.30pm.

And then everyone can get up close and personal with the ravenous raptors, sit on deadly dinosaurs, brave the scary Jurassic Park scene, and even put their head in the mouth of the fossilised T Rex skull!

And don’t forget from Saturday December 17th we have our Santa Claws Christmas Special when you can see the dinosaurs in their winter wonderland, and take part in our Christmas Quiz to win a present from Santa Claws – a FREE bag of 160-million-year-old fossils.
