Thanks to +Christopher Brandsdal for the seed sharing generosity. Wish I had room to try them all this year but I think I can find some room to at least try the El Oro de Ecuador! ๏ปฟ

Testing out some homemade potting soil on the yellow bell peppers cuz I ran out and can't find organic potting soil anywhere locally. Peat + homemade Compost made with chicken manure and other scraps + perlite. Will see how these do before repotting any others. ๏ปฟ

What the?! Flower buds already? Must be the LED light. My orange jalapeno that I started on 11/8 is already putting out some flower buds. I actually didn't even notice until after I topped them off. Anyone else getting flower buds already? Thanks again +Sander van Laarhoven for those seeds. :D

Turns out those small 6 packs aren't the best container to start peppers in. I should have started with a larger container. They just dry out too fast. I was having to water them every day to keep them from drying out. I've got most of the 6 packs transferred to 4" pots but still have a couple more to do but ran out of potting mix and finding organic potting mix this time of year isn't easy. I was surprised to find seed starting mix at Lowes so picked up some of that and might have to use that instead. I'll keep looking though. Can't wait for Costco to get it back in stock. Anyway here's a video I did of the repotting.

I've got 4 varieties of contest peppers going. Sugar Rush and JPGS were started in November and Carolina Reaper and Brazilian Starfish in December. I was worried about JPGS yellow leaves but it seems to be doing a little better but still yellower than I'd like. Sugar Rush is going strong. The other two are still babies.

Update on my 4 contest peppers. Sugar Rush was started in November and got its first trimming last week. The JPGS were also started in November but had a rough start. Lots of very light yellow colored leaves. This one has completely recovered but the others are still a bit yellow. The Brazilian Starfish and Carolina Reaper were both started the end of December. I haven't repotted the Carolina Reapers yet but need to do that soon. I ran out of potting mix and am testing out some homemade potting mix on some yellow bell peppers before I use it on the reapers. I may do a test of different soil mediums to see which works best. These are all under LED's but I have some reapers and brazilian starfish under shop lights to test which lighting works better. So far it's a close race, I'm not seeing a lot of difference yet.๏ปฟ

Happy #NationalSeedSwapDay! I've done a lot of seed swaps in the past 2 years. It's where I get most of the seeds I grow. I do them locally and online, both group and 1 on 1. This week I'm preparing for the #superduperseedswap2017 on Instagram. This year we have 21 participants. Can't wait to see what I get.๏ปฟ

The Italian Long Hots were the first pepper starts to get topped off. I've heard some people eat the pepper leaves. I tried a small bit raw and wasn't impressed. Maybe they taste better cooked? What do you do with them? ๏ปฟ

This girl some how found her way to my pepper plants in my grow room. I hope if there's any bad bugs she finds them and takes care of them for me. ๏ปฟ

Anyone else use a garden planning software? I've been using Grow Veg for the past 3 years. Love it. It has helped me tremendously with my planning. Here's my current plan for this year. http://plans.garden-planner.net/uploads/plans/780132.jpg๏ปฟ
