I waited patiently, and the horse waited patiently, but the cloud simply would. not. move.

Photographed near Calgary, Canada, at 2am February 19, 2014.

I suppose the wardens got tired of issuing the offending critters tickets. #sillysigns

I always laugh when I see the zebra strips and a sign saying "wildlife cross here". I'm just not sure they're paying attention.

He must've been very tired when he got out of bed because he's put his antlers on backwards!   #sillysigns

Of 50 spaces on the Worldwide Photowalk I'm leading in Calgary only 14 remain! Please sign up soon (it's free!) if you're looking for some photo fun on October 5th.

If you're not in Calgary, check the website for a walk local to you -- it's a wonderful event and you could win some great prizes!

It looks like we may get a double-peaked solar maximum with auroras on the increase again after a somewhat disappointing first peak.  This one was strong enough to shine through the waning daylight (at left).

I'm not generally one to get on a soapbox, but having spent the last week in the Great Bear Rainforest, there's no way that any massive oil transport should be allowed through this rare and beautiful environment!

The aurora tonight was strong, if short-lived.  This was almost directly overhead with a 14mm lens.  It needs some tidying, but I thought I'd share before crawling into bed.
