A little catch up for those folk who don't get my newsletter but have a passing interest in what I do.
Firstly I am booked to go into Zanzibar Studios in Winchester this coming Tuesday 17 February, to record my part fan funded album. I decided on Toby's Zanzibar after hearing what a great job he did on Matt Blake's and then Lucy Kitchen's album. We met last summer and talked about what could be done and now NOW I am getting ready to pack the car with instruments and head over there.
People have been very generous with their donations that have far exceed my estimations. All donors will be mentioned in the sleeve notes as well as being able to chose an object that will be featured in the album artwork. So far people have chosen some great objects to represent themselves from a beard to magic beans! I am putting some money in myself and raising the rest by getting a loan. The recording is the first step in a long journey. After that comes the mixing, mastering, artwork design, printing and pressing and THEN the selling! So there's still plenty of time for more donations if you want to get involved. Just click here to read the story of how I raised over £800 in donations and how you can help
I have six full days booked at with Toby and plan to record 6 tunes. It's a lot to fit in but I want to get it right so if I have to cut down on the number of tracks I will. But I am ever the optimist!
I will be sending out short daily newsletters on my progress just click here if you want to sign up.
Once the album is finished, then the real work begins but I'll tell you about that later!
