After placing a reservation, I was told I still had to wait as a couple that walked in after us with no reservation was seated immediately. We had ordered drinks, one of which was a speciality drink, the strawberry mule from their menu. I ordered a captain and coke. The speciality drink was halfway filled and made incorrectly. My captain tasted like the lowest rail spiced rum they had. Sent those back and received correctly prepared drinks. Later on I ordered another captain, only to receive another low quality rum drink. The salads, a Caesar and a wedge were very good. The appetizer, the spicy crunchy shrimp was also good. My girlfriend's crab stuffed grouper I was told was "ok". I had the Mitchell's market trio, which I thought would be a good sampling of what they had to offer. The asparagus was very good. The jambalaya rice was hard and crunchy and I managed to find one sliver of andouille. The salmon had no flavor. The shrimp was very dry. The crab cake tasted spoiled and was burnt. Very disappointed for a total bill of $110 plus tip for two people on a somewhat slow looking night for the restaurant. So, in summary, good salads, good appetizer, good asparagus, everything else was poor to mediocre. The service was ok. Take $60 and throw it away, take the remaining $50 to red lobster.

The food was ok, but the service was awful. I watched one couple get seated and then leave after 15 minutes because no one approached their table. I don't blame them. Had I not already ordered I would have left too. The place was empty and seemed well staffed. Just a complete lack of attention to their clientele.

We had heard this was a great place. We were very disappointed. I do not mind paying for a good meal, this was over priced and not very good. Lobster was rubbery, sand in scallops, waitress brought entrée and forgot our salads. Salad was wilted when she brought it out. I would not recommend.

I am a fairly regular customer at Mitchell's and most often order the Grilled Salmon. It is nearly always cooked perfectly, however I was very disappointed with the consistency of the portions. My guest also ordered the salmon and his was what I would say was the usual size and was blatantly larger than the serving on my plate. The handling of my query as to the size discrepancy was not handled properly. I am not sure I will be bringing guests there anytime soon. Upon arriving at home, I took a piece of salmon I had in my own freezer to weigh it on my kitchen scale and though it appeared much larger than what I was served at MItchell's, I was still surprised to see that it was 8 ounces - only 1 ounce greater in the weight Mitchell's claimed its serving size was. Although I had only my eyes in which to compare with, Clearly, the portion I received at Mitchell's could not have been 7 ounces. I honestly think they mixed their dinner portion with a lunch portion. The server never returned to our table until it was time to pay the bill. The service is usually better than this, so I think it was just bad luck all the way around.
