Simple spot for classic Thai fare plus non-standards like spicy “angel wings” in chile-garlic sauce.- Google
"Yep, Spicy Angel Wings are great like everyone says."
"Green papaya salad + Pad Thai = happiness in tummy."

This place is always solid! Food is great, excellent portions, and a good variety. I recommend the yellow curry, chicken salad, or papaya salad, but you really can't go wrong here!

Good food for the price. If you are gluten-free you can get the basic curries, not much else.

Wonderful Pad Thai! My husband and I first tried this place out 2 years ago, when we randomly came across it and had to go back again! It was just as good as it was 2 years ago! The place itself is old and maybe a bit run down for some, but what do you expect for a restaurant who's been there almost 30 years? Don't knock it until you try it!

After eating our take-out order from San Tung and finding ourselves still a bit hungry, my friends and I decided to walk over to Marnee Thai. The reviews looked promising and even though they were preparing to close for the night, the servers still welcomed us in. The restaurant is fairly big, but more narrow than wide. There's a slight tinge to the lighting, making everything seem more subdued and quiet. With the six of us having slightly full stomachs but room to still eat, we all ordered smaller dishes and shared items amongst the rest of us. I'm not the biggest Thai food fan and don't particularly care for any specific dish, so I just ordered a simple spring roll dish. I don't have any complaints about the dish - it was simple and what I expected. There were six spring rolls stuffed with cucumber, lettuce, carrots, etc. and came with a side of peanut sauce. I wouldn't say the dish was memorable, but it was good for the price. Their Pad Thai dish was also quite tasty. This dish was a lot better than my simple spring roll dish - the flavors were on point, there were lots of ingredients in the dish itself, and it looked good. I'd probably order this dish again. My other friends tried the curry and Pad See Ew, and both dishes were highly praised by them. Good flavor and a good number of ingredients in each one. Overall I would say a pretty solid Thai food experience. I liked the food here, but since I rarely get a Thai food craving, I probably wouldn't be back. But from what I tasted and the service we received, I have to give this place four stars.

We went here from Union Sq to the Sunset District because it was recommended. I've been to Thailand so I thought maybe this would come close? Not really. It's in a good spot. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I didn't have anything bad but while the rest of the group was ooing and ahing, I just had an okay meal. It wasn't all cheap so if you are expecting the taste and prices to be like Thailand, remember where you are. It was okay.

Definitely not the best Thai food in the city, the portions are small while the price is on the higher side. Would I wait in that line for this? No, it's a standard Thai restaurant. There are at least 2 other Thai restaurants in the area within walking distance that are just as good, if not better.

I don't know who Marnee is but he sure can cook some awesome Thai food. Awesome intimate restaurant part kitchen, part strange shaped narrow dining area and 100 percent hole in the wall status. Great authentic thai food that treats you like an adult and isn't afraid to give you the spicy heat. Nelson approved!

It's here that I discovered those little steamed coconut dessert cups that Thai restaurants sometimes have. Marnee's version? Amaze.
