they have bad service. I was overcharged on my bill and despite me calling them a gazillion times, they never fixed the problem. Highly not recommended due to bad management and possibility they could rob off your pocket.

The menu has changed. The ambiance has not. The first real modern taco bar in Silverlake is still a favorite of mine. As always, these are some of the best margaritas in the city, with the spicy cucumber being a style that has been ripped off everywhere. The salsas are still classic, and the cheaper menu is a welcomed addition. I can't get enough of sitting on this patio as well.

I ended up paying $40 for a gross enchilada and 2 drinks. Atmosphere was dark and dead.

malo never disappoints! unique + delicious take on mexican food with a mix of modern, vegeterian-friendly dishes and some legit street cart status dishes as well. the atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly, and you can always count on an excellent margarita as well.

Good food. Not as Spicy as one would like and a bit "trendy" for my taste. Keep the cool factor and give me the Great Food. With that said, nice place to take a date. The waiter recommended a mix of coffee and another drink(a latte maybe). Either way that mix got 4 1/2 stars from me...smelled wonderful and tasted even better.

BEST AL PASTOR TACOS in LA. That's a bold statement, I know, considering the wonderful relationship Los Angeles has with al pastor, but I am fully confident here. Don't be fooled by Malo's hipster pedigree, the al pastor beats out every taco truck, small family Mexican joint, you name it, that I've tasted. The chewy chips are also a revelation, fried at a lower temperature so they don't quite crisp up. They're greasy and dangerous and delicious. The margaritas are also fantastic, especially the organic classic and the Impala SS. I also love their brunch options, this is one of my favorite brunch places in Los Angeles. At night I like to go here for dinner, get some al pastor tacos, a margarita, and then walk over to the Tiki Ti for some tiki goodness. Great night.

The special taco deals they have on Monday nights is awesome, and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is loud, though, so if you're looking for an easy time making conversation you might try elsewhere.
