Maybe narrow your stance? You might be able to turn faster and it eliminates the possibility of a shift instead of a turn. But I have to say it is impressive with such a wide stance to be able to turn this well. Looks like you create enormous downward force.

Wow, seriously!??!! Sort of the American dream of 60 years ago. Is this a parody or is this serious?

What are the controls under the left door air vents?

I am so glad you enjoyed the clip Bob - the Bora has been a willing recipient of improvements as I get to put more and more pleasurable "shakedown" miles on him (I've named him "Marco", LOL). Fellow enthusiasts from various online forums have been a huge help. More clips will be coming this summer! Can hardly wait. In fact - I'm just today putting back together the shift linkages after replacing the u-joints in my frigid garage. I borrowed Dave Burnham's drill press (heated garage!) for some taper pins, and Marco should shift much better this year… Yes, Dave Burnham's clients have some wonderful SM's - I will ask him to lend me his 5-spd for a short clip this spring. His shop is working on a client's beautiful DS Cabriolet this winter… Stay warm. Cheers, - Art

Seems like your upper body is better connected so the arms are more passive in the downswing. Seems that you by doing this are far more able to put the power from the lower body movement more efficiently onto the ball.

Epic that you share your journey with us. It inspired me to pick up 5 lessons again and start an evolution myself. In doing that I went from breaking 80 easily to struggling to break 90 now, but its 'll for a great cause

Coole video weer. Word altijd blij als iemand ook zo'n autogek is, zeker als het een jonge gast is die waarschijnlijk later alleen in elektrische stuff kan rondrijden. Fijn ook dat iemand tijd besteed aan de details die je anders ziet ziet. Kudo's!

Fantastic video, fantastic car! Even though (if I'd ever have the money) I would never prefer this car over a Ferrari, the guy from McLaren just oozes a love of cars that is unparalleled. Well done McLaren!!!!

I love this channel, true carlovers heaven. But there is a car missing from your garage. It was never sold over there (US) sadly. You should get a Alfa Romeo 156 GTA. It is flawed in some area's (front wheel drive with the last and most powerful of the Busso V6's) but I can assure you it will be your daily driver. Whenever over here, I'm sure one of us owners will lend you the car for your stay and inform you all about it. Keep up the good work!

+Maarten Korz Sure, voor zover ik daar zicht op heb. DE innovatie gebeurt overigens niet hier, maar met name in het buitenland.
