I normally run CyanogenMod on my Android devices.  But when I got my Nexus 5 I wanted to stay with the stock rom due to more recent stability issues I've had and lag in releases with CyanogenMod.  The problem is you really miss all the nice little tweaks that CyanogenMod brings with it.  I have found a great alternative that lets you continue running the stock rom but allows you to apply all the tweaks, plus some, from CyanogenMod.  Avoiding the stability issues and the lag.

You do still need to root your phone.  Enable loading apps from 3rd parties and then install Xposed Framework, http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk.  Once you have that installed install GravityBox.  You'll need the one for the version of Android you're running.  Searching on Google should point you in the right direction.

While I'm mentioning Android apps Helium - App Sync and Backup is great for keeping multiple Android devices in sync and backed up.  I highly recommend the Premium version but it costs $4.99.  Well worth it.  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup

Just installed this so that I can do an about face anytime I find myself on a website of a supporter.

Just transferred my domains from GoDaddy to Namecheap after it came out that GoDaddy was supporting SOPA. They have since changed their position on SOPA after the backlash but that was the last straw. Dealing with GoDaddy always felt like dealing with a used car salesman anyhow.

On my way home tonight I saw a black bear cross the road. They run faster than you expect.
