FalkirkLUG 7th Feb - Laurence Billingham - Using Machine Learning to predict solar magnetic storms

So, it's that time again! We'll be meeting next Tueday (7th Feb), and as ever we'll be in the Sportsters in Falkirk from 6ish onwards, with the talk starting in the private room from around 8pm.

This month we have Laurence Billingham joining us for a talk on machine learning and it's predictive capabilities. Sounds right up my street, but sadly I won't be there (duties of my job :P). I'll leave you in Douglas' capable hands though, and see you all in March.

Enjoy!

FalkirkLUG 1st Nov - Rachel Willmer, Title TBA

Time for the final talk of the year - where did that go? We'll be meeting next Tueday (1st Nov), and as ever we'll be in the Sportsters in Falkirk from 6ish onwards, with the talk starting in the private room from around 8pm.

We're happy to say that this month we have the ever-excellent (and hard-to-book) Rachel Willmer. She'll be joining us for an as-yet untitled talk of her choice. Rachel is always involed in interesting projects, so it'll be a great night regardless of topic.

See you there!

Our LUG maintainer will be abusing his priviledges to bring us a talk on the cloud data platform, Nextcloud. We'll be installing NC live on a RasPi, configuring it, testing it and adding plugins to it. Not just a hypefest - discussion on pitfalls and drawbacks included!

See you there!

As ever, we'll be the Sportsters from 6.30ish onwards, talk from 8pm, drinks and chat to finish. See the website for all the usual fluff.

This month, our very own Rab McLay will be giving a talk on COMPUTER HACKING ... or rather, how to learn and perform computer security testing legally using purpose-built virtual machines, with a live demo.

See you there!
