Playground, Park
At 9.5 acres, Pier 1 is the largest of the park piers, and the only pier that is built on landfill rather than on pile-supported structure. This strong foundation provides the base for a new topograph

One of the best places in Brooklyn (and maybe NYC?!). Even though in recent years the Pier 1 lawn has become more crowded as tourists and others have discovered it, it is still worth a visit for the beautiful views of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge. Also a perfect place for a picnic!

Great place to come for a picnic etc. I was here on Memorial Day and it was populated, but nowhere near being overcrowded. Great views of the city, just remember to bring a blanket and know they do not allow portable chairs for some reason.

One of my favorite places in the summer. Great outdoor movies in the park.

The views of the city are amazing and there are many places to crash with a picnic blanket. Because the bridge/walkway was closed, it was a pain to get to the Pier. There are decent bathrooms and food trucks available.

Great place to go in the summer or warmer weather. There are tennis courts, volley ball courts, a playground. There is a small concession stand selling Italian ices (yummy. cold and delicious), ice cream, and a few other snacks. It is close to the ferry to Governor's Island. There is parking on the street or a parking lot next to the park, which charges a small fee. It is a fun place to relax on a lazy hazy summer's day. Watch the boats go up and down the river.

Love the Brooklyn bridge park but I was not really in to the pebbled walkway. The wood walk bridge over to Brooklyn Heights is very convenient especially after eating Thai food and then heading over to the park for ice cream. Definitely recommend!
