You know when you say “totes” and you can’t stop yourself adding “mcgotes?” And then you feel gross about yourself? Like some piece of your dignity has been irrevocably shredded in a black hole of despair and shame? You wanna get a chai latte? You wanna go see francis ha? You wanna go do some dubstep aerobics? Totes! Then McGotes comes tumbling in from where she was hiding around the doorway and she’s all like “heyyyyy guys, wanna see how i can fit my whole fist in my mouth?” Even though you hate yourself for wanting it, you can’t stop yourself. And thats the totes debasing of allure of mcgotes. Totes mcgotes.

Fed-up consumers 'email bomb' execs, get results. When all else fails, blast your way to the top. http://nbcnews.to/1cQOQ71 EECB, baby.

Pictured: one President who reads every email a consumer sends him, and two consumers who like to send EECBs.

I got curious about how layaway was working for people this year. Then I got sick of how various smart experts were trash-talking layaway -- in a way that had a strong odor of classism -- without hearing from the shopper's side. So I went out and met them in the Bronx and Pennsylvania and wrote this. http://www.nbcnews.com/business/layaway-last-christmas-hope-consumers-burned-credit-cards-2D11591132

Didn't read the article yet, but a friend's mother used layaway as a tool to help pay for gifts, but mostly to keep the gifts hidden from her 4 kids until the very last minute.

My latest http://on.today.com/14BdjKF - For parents, renting a car seat with your car rental can be sketchy and expensive. Despite assurances, Lori landed and found none at Avis. Instead they told her to drive to Walmart, with her kid not in a car seat, and they would refund the purchase. Nathaniel went through four seats with Dollar and found them all dirty, flimsy or lacking safety features. And at $8-$13/day, in a few days of renting you could just buy a new one. That's why The Car Seat Lady instead recommends a few of these more travel-friendly car seats: Wheeling devices: GoGoBabyz Travel Mate, Brica Roll N' Go.
Forward facing kids up to 65 lbs: Safety 1st Go Hybrid - weighs 10 lbs, comes with travel bag, fits into overhead bin
Kids in boosters: Bubble Bum booster, (1lb) or Safety 1st Boostapak, a booster that can be worn as a backpack

I know many people do that because its more cost effective - but if they're complaining about not having a car seat to drive to Walmart, but then not caring because the kid doesn't have one on the plane... I mean, what do you think is going to happen in a crash on a plane if you're holding them? They're going to go flying down the aisle that's what!

When I worked for a giant insurance company, that kind of thing happened all the time. Protocol and procedure were far more important that actually helping the customer.

I just got some free sporks by emailing Light My Fire after both their sporks we own broke. Mine the handle snapped and my wife's one of the tines broke. It wasn't an eecb but they sent us THREE free new sporks plus a spork carrying case. I was stoked.
