I have not have an overall good experience here in the 3 or 4 visits I've made here. Today's was the worst and I won't be back. Crux has various places to sit and enjoy the beer, indoors and out. One of the choices is the benches along the outside wall which capitalize on the views (gorgeous) and the sun-warmed wall (wonderful in the cooler months.) If you choose to sit here rather than a table inside or tables in the tented area outside, you need to get your own drinks if you don't want to wait quite a while. This should be fine, but it is always a pain. You stand at the bar, hoping to be noticed, and then are allowed to place your order. The bar servers are busy, but I have been many places where the bar is busy and have gotten good service. I have not yet gotten good (friendly) service at Crux in this situation. I must say, I have gotten good service when seated inside. Today I ordered, the bar server (a consistently surly employee in my experience) rinsed the glasses and left 2-3 tablespoons of water in my wine glass, then poured the wine. When I pointed out the glass had water in it and I would like to have him pour another, water-free glass of wine for me it pissed him off. He was rude and didn't apologize for not noticing there was still water in the glass. He did pour me another glass of wine without rinsing the glass. I bought the wine and one beer and it cost $14, which is on the high side, even for craft beer, even in Bend. I definitely won't be back. There are too many great places to enjoy in this town.

Fantastic beer, great venue, awesome food and epic views. Wow, this place rocks! What a great micro brew set among the back drop of the mountains. The chicken wrap and chicken curry soup were delicious. The soup was so savory, perfect! The bartender, sorry friendly and helpful a nice touch. This place can be hard to find but don't fret, be patient.

Although I don't get to visit Bend too often any more, my co-workers have coaxed me out to Crux for my last couple of business visits to the area and I have throroughly enjoyed it. The place is admittedly a little cramped and could use some more space, and is a little loud which sometimes makes conversation difficult, but the drinks make it all worthwhile! The Nitro Stout is deliciously balanced and packed with a punch that lets you enjoy a whole evening on 1 or 2 drinks. :) Keep up the great brewing, Crux!

My 15 year old son thinks they are trying too hard but I found it to be a great spot with good food and excellent beer. A comfy loud high energy and high design atmosphere. If they can avoid turning their clever kitsch into camp, this will continue to be a cherished spot.

Crux is a very cool brewery in a town full of cool breweries. It is a little off the beaten path but still only a 10 minute walk from downtown. The space has a great feel with tall wooden tables and brewing equipment all around. Their beer list is impressive and long and everything I tried there was excellent. They also have a food menu. I had a chicken sandwich which was good, standard pub food. There is outdoor seating and a lawn area with corn hole, so this is a great spot to spend an afternoon drinking and playing games. Definitely recommend for the beer loving crowd.

Wow! What a great place! Lots of beer selection, a full kitchen, friendly and smart staff! It was a little hot since it's just an open warehouse, but the cold beer helped stifle the heat a bit. I like the hop vines growing along the fence in the parking lot. I didn't try any of the food, but it looked and smelled amazing. All of the beer we tried was fantastic. I can't wait to make it to Bend again!

I've been a fan of the beer for awhile - especially Freakcake! Was surprised that the place was so clean and state of the art - very cool look to everything. We were in town for three days and actually came here twice and took some to go food with us! We're vegan, but they did accommodate us very nicely. The bean dip / hummus was great! Tortilla chips instead of pita to keep it vegan! The beers were amazing as expected. Took several souvenirs with us as well - despite not being the souvenir buying type! Highly recommended!
