Shave of the day  -

#SOTD

I'm getting ready to move for the third time in two years and was glad to finally find a box of misplaced shaving goodies. Tucked away in a small zip-lock bag were the remnants of my first puck of Tabac. I rubbed it on my beard and face lathered with the trusty Pro 49. The razor this week is the Merkur 33C, aftershave is Thayer's alcohol-free with aloe. Yesterday's scent was Murray & Lanman's Florida Water, today's was Agua Lavanda Puig. I love both of those in the heat.

I just finished watching part 2 of Frontline's United States of Secrets. This quote from former NSA director Michael Hayden stood out.

People blow off what the NSA is and what they are doing because no one thinks they are going to be spied on if they are not doing anything wrong.

Unfortunately no one can deny right and wrong anymore. Just having a Ron Paul sticker on your car makes you a suspect in some areas.

I try to reason with people by saying that every time you hear about the NSA it is always worse than it was before. Every few years we find out they are up to more than we ever considered or even be legal.

I wish people would get mad and vocal more about this stuff and the militarization of every federal agency and local police force.

Just For Fun  -

#tbt

The conclusion, conveyed with great authority by several big-league climatologists from government and private research organizations, is terrible: by the year 2000, the atmosphere and weather will grow warmer by several degrees and life - animal, plant, human - will be threatened. The experts say that melting ice caps, flooded cities, droughts in the corn belt and famine in the third world could result if the earth's mean temperature rises by a mere two or three degrees.

+Matthew Kelly Its a long standing cult going to be a religion soon. Give it another 30-40 years and you should see climate churches popping up everywhere.,

I was running late this morning and didn't have time to pack my lunch, and I wasn't looking forward to a boring sandwich lunch. I'm glad I found Palmyra! I had a chicken shawarma pita. The garlic sauce was great and the pickles added their own zing. The food was very fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.

Sal's is a very nice neighborhood barber shop. The interior walls are loaded with great pictures of local history and barber shop/shaving memorabilia. One wall is loaded with shaving mugs and razors, double- and single-edge. If you need the scoop on anything local, skip the newspapers and just hang out here. Sal gives a great haircut, too!

Pretty good experience here. I'm a new PA resident and I had all the documents I needed. I didn't have much of a wait and once I got to the counter, things moved very quickly. Folks were friendly. Pay by check only.
