Average at best. The garlic bread (french bread) wasn't fresh or good. Hoped fresh bread to dip in oil, not to be found here. Service was slow. Water was only filled if we asked.

One of the things I like best is that it is possible to order half-orders of the pasta. I have tried the Manicotti, sauteed mushrooms, and something else my friend ordered that was good but I forget what it was. Their garlic bread is different with no cheese and some herbs instead; I liked it but my friend didn't. I will definitely give them another try if I am in the area.

My cousin and I went for dinner, the whole stag was very friendly and consistently paid attention to how we were doing. Everything was timely and the food was amazing! I got the baked ziti and my cousin got the tortellini Alfredo. The food was hot, delicious, and packed with flavor. We both got half orders and didn't finish either of them but got the apple turnover anyway(it's a vacation right?). That was warm and amazing and it came with gelato that was the best I've ever had. This was my first time to San Diego and I will make this a stop every time I come through.

The sausage is truly spectacular, the garlic bead is spicy/delicious, but the atmosphere tries too hard to be classy.

Great food and staff. We had a few young kids and they were very accommodating.

Stopped here when I visited San Diego because it was close to my hotel. Absolutely loved this restaurant. I had the lasagna and was particularly happy that the menu gave the option of ordering a half portion, since I can rarely finish a big meal. The lasagna came out piping hot and was delicious, with a rich sauce that had a clear taste of nutmeg. Service was very good and the person who waited on me was pleasant without being overly intrusive. I'd be a regular at Petrini's if I lived in San Diego and will definitely go back the next time I am town.

We were here for breakfast. I had the hash, and my wife the petrini toast with berry compote. Her's was excellent, and mine was pretty good. Only complaint was the service, considering was rather light, was spotty. Seemed they were more interested to talk to each other in the back, or on the phone, than the customers. Basically, they check on you (say for more water) on their way in and out to serve other customers. I'd go again, in case the owners were having an off day. They took orders and the food was delivered promptly enough, so maybe if they had more customers we would see them more often.

Thanks for your review, Neil! It sounds like you and your wife had a very pleasant breakfast with us, and we’re so happy to hear that! However, we're sorry you didn’t find the service to be particularly attentive. It’s totally unacceptable that you saw some of our staff on their phones, and we’ll definitely raise the issue with them. That said, we’re happy to know you’d come back, and we hope you’ve had the chance to do so since you wrote this review several months ago. Don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know how your next visit goes and what we can do to improve! We’d love to hear from you. Warm wishes, David & Lucy, Owners.

I was only in San Diego for a day, but Petrini's came highly recommended, so that is where we ate. I had the Chicken Parmesan, and it was the best I've had in my life, no joke. We were there around 5 pm, and didn't have to wait for a table. I will surely eat there again, next time I am in town.

We’re thrilled to hear such a nice compliment about our Chicken Parmesan, Lyon! Definitely come back the next time you’re in town, and let us know if you ever have any suggestions about how we can do better! We hope we’ll be seeing you before too long. Big thanks, David & Lucy, Owners.
