This issue came up in the of my classes last week, so I'm glad to see this article. 

People like people.
They like talking WITH people.
They like it when people LISTEN TO THEM.
This is the reason why I advise solopreneurs (especially SERVICE-based) to brand as themselves. It's just plain harder for brands to create the same connection. 

That doesn't mean brands should stop communicating on a human level about topics that actually matter. It just means that you'll find a business brand isn't as dynamic as an actual human.

It's also worth remembering that just because someone has a great personal brand on any particular social network, doesn't mean it will translate to a business brand. It's true, a social media advisor should be able to show some social media chops, but that shouldn't be based on follower count alone.

HTDC brought this incident to my attention regarding Hawaii tech supporter Dean Levitt's company (Mad Mimi)
In about two hours if threats are carried out, email marketing service Mad Mimi (CrunchBase) will be hit with another denial-of-service attack..

1. No share buttons

2. No images for pinning or photo previews

Hello? It’s 2014. Each post needs a really good photo. If you don’t have a feature image on your blog design, create graphics and add them into your posts. These will make your blog much more shareable on Google+, Facebook, and Pinterest.

If don’t have PhotoShop, try +Canva  to create beautiful images for your blog and social media sharing. I create this blog image with Canva and I’ll share it on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+. Heck, I might even try this on Instagram.

3. No social media links
Social media is the fuel behind your blog. Connecting with people by sharing their blog and having discussions throughout the day is what helps build the web of connections throughout social sites and back to your blog.

Personally, I am a wife, sister, daughter, friend and all around nut! I also love to cook (although I'm not always good at it) sometimes the only way to wash down my cooking is with a glass of wine or sake, so I have interests in those as well.
