Great art is often interactive, and captivating design is frequently dynamic. Such is the case with Ghostcube, a beautifully conceived study in topological transfiguration created by Swedish designer Erik Åberg out of interconnected wooden cubes.

Listen to this young girl playing her sheng, a Chinese instrument invented thousands of years ago. The woodwind may be ancient, but the sound is pure 1980s nostalgia--it's the Super Mario Brothers theme, right down to the sounds of Mario collecting coins and mushrooms. Amazing!

"White Chocolate R2-D2 Sculpture" http://feedly.com/k/19OsrXT
Fernando Arreola, pastry chef at the Fairmont San Jose, sculpted 150 pounds of white chocolate fondant into a replica of R2-D2! The work was inspired by the Star Wars Exposition at The Tech Museum of Innovation. See another picture of this work of art at Geeks Are Sexy....

"12 Bizarre Chess Variants - Neatorama" http://feedly.com/k/1bXJiDM
Chess, the great game of simulated warfare, has existed for 1500 years and, according to science fiction, will command humanity's intellectual attraction for at least hundreds more. Standard chess is plenty of fun, but why not mix it up? Here are twelve variations of the game that you might not know about. ;1. 3RD Millennium Chess is played on a single board, but one that's been wrapped into a cylinder. To make it even more complex, knights can m...

Brace yourselves, what follows is an amazingly long blog post about Star Wars. I'm not a huge fan of the various modifications made to the original Star Wars trilogy, so it's reasonable to assume I'm not a big fan of the prequel trilogy either. There are many people who dislike the prequel ...

"You won't believe this picture of Santa Claus was drawn with MS Paint" http://feedly.com/k/1fXyEkX
The things some people can do with a pencil and paper are just ridiculous. The things some people can do with Photoshop or iPad apps is just unreal. Art is amazing! But what might be as impressive as any of that is what this guy did with MS Paint. He created an unbelievably photo realistic picture of Santa Claus with everyone's favorite stick figure drawing medium.

"Film Noir Themed Art Series Created With Packing Tape" http://feedly.com/k/1cHpipR
Sometimes artists use strange mediums simply to make a stir and raise publicity, but when an artist discovers a new medium that really works well, and looks really cool at the same time, you know they’re about to change the game.Mark Khaisman is one of those innovative artists, and his latest series of Film Noir themed works are quite a breath of fresh air. Mark creates the signature look of his "drawings" by applying translucent duct tape to acr...

"What kind of sorcery illusion lets these two blocks be the same color?" http://feedly.com/k/1aHVJDd
One is dark, one is light. One is gray, one is white. These are obviously two different blocks with two different colors right? Wrong. The two blocks are the same color. Seriously, they're the same shade of gray. Just place your finger across the seam (where the blocks meet in the middle) to reveal the illusion. Just crazy.
