Learning from all of my life experiences is a big philosophy of mine. Even in those uncomfortable situations, something can be gleaned about myself and the world around me. The question always is, am I willing to look?

Over the weekend, I learned to shoot a pistol for the first time. At first I was terrified, but that fear quickly turned to confidence in applying some very basic principles (that also apply to life in general). And, as it turns out, I'm a pretty good shot! http://ow.ly/Yl7PC

A brain integrated posture is a position that creates a whole-brained state (where the right and left hemispheres can work in balance together). In this state, you more easily learn new things, recall stored information quicker, make appropriate decisions clearly, and reduce unwanted stress in the body. Plus, it puts you in a heightened state of creativity and awareness.
Try it today by taking a few minutes to cross your arms and legs while in a seated position. Take a few deep cycles of breath, and relax your body as best you can. If you can, even close your eyes. After a few minutes, unwind and continue with the rest of day... aware of any insights that have arisen from this time in a brain-integrated posture.
Enjoy your day!

Just finished the book "What got you here, won't get you there." The premise is that we are often successful in spite of some of our behavioral habits. Marshall Goldsmith says "the funny thing about stopping some behavior is that it often gets no attention at all, but it can be as crucial as everything else we do combined." This week, I've been focusing on speaking less and listening more from the heart. In the theme of the detox we've been doing this week, letting go of habits, behaviors, and patterns can be very freeing. Plus, it provides the space for numerous opportunities to arise. What might you do less of this week to enhance your success or connection with others?
