A culture of failure permeates through Mississippi’s State Government, political parties, elected officials and special interest groups. Rather than talk of removing the cancer that grows within, these entities promote it and feed upon it.

Mississippi’s people, on the other hand, are strong. They are caring and they are fair. They are also ready to go to work, but not for a government that they distrust and who has failed them while enriching their friends with special interests and deep pockets.

Instead of Cochran retiring when he began facing health problems months ago, it appears that in consultation with the establishment, he intentionally waited until after the qualifying deadline to announce his retirement.
