An amazing guided tour this morning of #Pamplona #Navara #mollydoocycling provided by the local Spanish tourist board. What an amazing place this is, so much history and colour, a key host to the #caminosantiago pilgrimage route and also was the gateway to and from the Pyrenees and southern Spain.

We also learned of an annual event that consists of a #bull race, were runners will race against the mighty bull as a tradition and celebrations are all over a central square were 12,000 people will congregate for 3 minutes of glory.

worth checking out some of the central hotels that give a strategic position and spectacular views of this historic event, the #hotelpompaelo recently opened and is amazing.

A great base for a #cycling #holiday, mountains are just a few kilometres away.

We visited Andalucia back in April to check out the Via Verdes ( The Greenway) between Jaen and Cordoba, a 124 KM stretch of old railway tracks that cut through the heart of this beautiful area of mainland Spain. The route is used by many cyclists and offers gentle cycling with spectacular views and sightseeing opportunities.

One of our favourite places was the picturesque town of Alcuadete, which boasts an historic castle nestled overlooking the town. Originally built by the Arabs around 1050 and then taken over by the Christians.
