The Fifteenth Annual Ohio LinuxFest will start a week from today. The Midwest's Largest Open Source and Free Software Conference and Exposition is being held September 29-30, 2017 on the second floor the Hyatt Regency hotel in Downtown Columbus Ohio.

Friday Highlights

* Our Ohio LinuxFest Professional Pass is $450. OLFI training for this year is on September 29th 2017. It includes the Linux Professional Institute cram class and other fine training sessions as listed below. Please take a look at the detailed list (https://ohiolinux.org/olfi/) and register as soon as possible as walk-ins will be $500.

* The Early Penguins Track will be held in the Franklin Ballroom. We open at 9am with Monitoring Java Application Performance Using Thermostat Scott Seighman and close with Linux IoT Botnet Wars and the Lack of Basic Security Hardening Eystein Stenberg at 3pm.

* Karen Sandler of the Software Freedom Conservancy will be keynoting about ethical technology at 4:10 pm, also in the Franklin Ballroom.

* Happy Hour in the Expo sponsored by Fusion Storm is open in the Union Ballroom from 5pm to 7pm.

* Purchase a ticket for dinner with the keynotes for $75 at time of registration or at the check in table.

* Birds of a Feather are available, unconference-style, 7pm to 9pm.

Saturday Highlights

* Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the Expo in Union Ballroom starting at 8am. Say thanks to our sponsors who make Ohio LinuxFest possible.
* We start off the day at 9am in the Franklin Ballrooms with Keynote Who Cares if the Code is Free? User Experience & Open Source with Máirín Duffy of the Fedora Project.
* Five tracks of talks from 10am to 6pm include something for everyone: Security, Career, System Administration, Desktop, Media, Open Source Solutions, and /dev/random
* Want to get started contributing to open source? Join a diverse-inclusive workshop at 10am until 3pm in the Delaware ballroom. (http://feetwetinopensource.com)
* On site testing opportunity for Linux Professional Institute tests in Clark starting at 1pm. Linux Essentials for $69 and any LPIC test for $99.
