Car seats continually change, and so do laws for how to use them. A recent study showed that 7 out of 10 child safety seats are not properly installed. A few tips on car seat safety:
1. Check for labels on your car seat. These will give you information about how your car seat works.
2.Use the Anchors! All newer car seats have a set of lower anchors, and forward-facing car seats also have an upper attachment. These should be attached to your car.
3.When buckling your child, make sure the harness clip is even with the child's shoulders or armpits.
4. Straps should be fastened with no more than 1 finger's slack.
