I concur with this assessment (a sentence Trump wouldn't say these days).

For a guy that lies constantly, he's not very good at it.

Evidence of Trump's rumored short attention span is his addiction to Twitter. The perfect medium for those who can't think long, complex thoughts.

Since Speaker Ryan doesn't seem to get it, let's spell it out for him. We don't trust the president to appoint an FBI director who can freely investigate the White House. We don't have any confidence in the Congress. Both the House and Senate are controlled by party members interested primarily in making the investigation go away. The only solution to this dilemma that will restore trust in the legal process is the appointment of an independent investigator.

Dear gawd, it's amateur hour at the White House. I sure hope Trump does record Oval Office conversations. Not only might we learn what happened between Trump and Comey but also between Trump and the Russians during his secretive meeting with them.

A wild strawberry on the left, a modified-through-genetic manipulation strawberry on the right. Both growing in the back garden. Which would you rather eat?

Watch this if you want to understand more about the political background of not just the Trump presidency but the evolution of the Republican party after Nixon.

I'm amused by those who contend Comey has damaged the reputation of the FBI. I guess they have forgotten about J. Edgar and his massive domestic spying operations. Evidently they haven't heard about the failure of the FBI, among other agencies, to share information that may have prevented 9/11. The FBI's reputation was in question long before Comey took over.
