The argument about raising tax revenues on top earners may be received differently, if the public weren't so terribly misinformed about the reality of the wealth distribution in America.

I just had to bring these beautiful words to you....

Why Dogs Don’t Live As Long As Humans as Explained By a 6 Year Old...

He said,”People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life, like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The Six-year-old continued,

”Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

A stunning image to leave you with for this evening. It's taken by Michael Sinclair and shows the Brecon Beacons on South Wales - which have won the status of “international dark sky reserve” -  the fifth place in the world to gain the accolade from the International Dark-Sky Association and today's Guardian #eyewitness  selection from our photography team.

The site joins Mont Mégantic in Quebec, Exmoor national park in Devon, Aoraki Mackenzie in New Zealand and the NamibRand nature reserve in Namibia. Galloway Forest Park in Scotland is an “international dark sky park”

Have a great evening all!

A Moment of Tranquility

There is a field west of Höfn in southern Iceland (right on the Ring Road) with horses and this wonderful old ruinous house, surrounded by hills. A photographer I had met earlier had told me to look out for this place, because it's such a unique shooting location, and yes, yes it is! I arrived here in time for the sunset.

I've been looking forward to sharing this one. Hope you like it! :-)

Daily chart: The stand off between China and Japan over disputed islands in the East China Sea brings the two sides closer to armed conflict than at any time since the second world war. Maritime claims in Southeast Asia are even more complex and competition is made intense by speculation that the South China Sea might be rich in oil and gas. Today’s videographic looks at Asian maritime disputes. View videographic via http://econ.st/15pEGXi
