The most interesting man in the world!

RIP you glorious gentleman.

I'd say he had a good run. And right now I imagine Satan reading the news, realising he's going to get his ass kicked AND be dethroned by the biggest badass of them all.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel. Walpole's epigram couldn't be truer. Ted Nelson voices his loss beautifully in this raw eulogy of what we we have all lost in Doug Engelbart's passing.  http://youtu.be/yMjPqr1s-cg

Just wondering if TWIT had tried to set up an interview with Cmdr. Chris Hadfield on the ISS? I just watched an interview that he did about Social Media and I think that NASA and TWIT would both benefit from the conversation. Enjoy

Willy Wonka was vaguely creepy when I first saw it, but this short remix makes it angry (but very good!). Good DAY!
What happens when you slow down Gene Wilder's manic Willy Wonka patter and set it to a beat? Parody songwriter SrslySirius takes Wonka's dressing down of Grandpa Joe and Charlie Bucket and transforms ...

Hey Randy,

I put the script for the version that was shown as an attachment on the Jwiki at http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/http%3A/www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/BobTherriault/Visualize?action=info

and have since added a 'skinnier' version

The blog is at http://bobtherriault.wordpress.com/

Cheers, bob

I came across this article via the Data, Data, Data - Big Data Community. It raises the question of whether efficiency or quality of life is to be most desired in an 'planned' city. On a side note, I wonder if it does not make more sense to plan the rebuilding of a city a la Sandy ravaged New Jersey rather than start from scratch.

Cheers, bob

Tip: Create an empty Save circle to save posts for later sharing

Great G+ circles tip from +Richard Kashdan in a comment on one of my posts: "You can mark posts you are interested in by creating a new circle, called "Save" for example, and leave it empty; i.e. don't put anyone in it. You can then save a post for later by Sharing it with the Save circle. No one but you will see that you did that, but you can later go to the Save stream on the left column to get the posts that you saved."

I would love to know how this works. To see something like this perform this well in the noisy real world is amazing. I suppose 'flying cars' will be next :)

Interviewed for a job with G.E. Medical many years ago. Was warned to remove all metal objects from my pockets before visiting their early prototype NMR machine (since euphemized to MRI). Forgot the glasses in my shirt pocket, which promptly levitated as I approached the device. Very spooky!
