My friend Eddy, a super talented Courtenay physiotherapist, helped me with this round up of exercises perfect for getting the body's muscles balanced, key for injury proofing and playing hard. This appeared in the fall issue of explore with Restless Josie modeling. http://ow.ly/8TFj306NsyD

I try to get out and sweat every day. It helps clear my head and brightens my mood, plus it's usually fun. That's especially true if it's in a forest, river or ocean, compared to the gym or pool. There's science to back up how nature naturally makes us feel better. Now you can even win prizes for spending 30 minutes in nature for 30 days straight. http://ow.ly/4nvvdr

I love the idea of micro-adventures. It's like a mini-expedition that requires little time, but lots of effort. I've got a few planned and am always looking for inspiration for more. Here are five micro-adventures I teased out of five Canadian explorers. They're all burly, borderline brutal and definitely class III fun (the kind that doesn't have to be fun to be fun:) http://ow.ly/4nsPir
