I think we need to stop having so many commercial hives. Farmers need to have their own hives. Not like it's that much work. And if you have a short season crop like almonds, plant clover near the hives. I really think that our carting the poor things around and feeding them sugar water is damaging them, making them vulnerable. Also, they are European bees, so non-native. Perhaps we have just taken them places where they picked up stuff that native pollinators don't worry about. I live in a place where there are no hives, but I see tons of wild bees. What is happening with the wild bees?
