Strange that a restaurant with such acclaim and at this price point can show lack of technique and low complexity in flavor. Saltiness is almost lazy and an insult. Service was okay, and the tables are small. Dim, romantic ambiance. Food has Asian influence at best, and attempts to present east-meets-west cuisine felt almost as if they were missing the eastern part of the cuisine.

What a disappointment!! The first course gazpacho was excellent, but it was downhill from there. Portions are gigantic and enough for two or three. Too many flavors. Not enough variation in texture. A true mish-mash. Was this restaurant good when it opened? It certainly is NOT anymore.

We showed up on a Thurs at 1 pm. We did not have to wait to be seated. We also sat next to 3 empty tables. There were empty tables scattered around and nobody was waiting for a table when they came in. It took us 50 minutes to get food after we sat. Fifty. Most people don't have lunch breaks that long. Most people would have walked out but I wanted to try the food. It's understandable if your restaurant gets slammed all of a sudden at lunch or dinner time but this was not the case. I felt bad for the waiter who had to apologize to tables left and right and RUN all over the restaurant. When is it safe to run in a restaurant? I know he was shafted on tips because of the situation that was not his fault too. The hostess brought us our food, which is fine, everyone's gotta help out if they can, but when I told her to tell a manager that 50 mins was not acceptable she just said I know, we're so busy. That was it. No apology, no bringing a manager over, no care at all. I get it, she's the hostess, it's not her job to care about our complaints. I wanted some dessert and wine but didn't feel like waiting until dinner time to get it. I saw my waiter a total of 4 times anyway so it was too hard to ask for anything unless I yelled for him when he was running. I guess all I can say is I'm sad at how the place was run. If you know it's the weekend or prime lunch or dinner time why not hire extra staff? Why didn't ANY SINGLE person warn me that my food was going to take 50 minutes? People that sat next to us canceled their food and left too. Sad experience.

Shocking. All 4 of us sent our meals back. Have no idea how this place stays in business. No apology....nothing. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk.!

I went here on recommendations of coworkers. However I, was very disappointed. The calamari dipping sauce was super salty and the pulled pork pot-stickers were very bland. Add to that service was really not on par with a restaurant of this caliber. They never asked if everything was good/ok. I had to ask for salt and sauce to try to make the pot-stickers better. I only ate 1/2 of them and gave up. They were not enjoyable. and the server just wanted to pull them and didn't care if i enjoyed my meal. The management was very apologetic but it was way past any opportunity to make any amends.

Hadn't been there in about 8 years. Quite disappointed with the quality. Items are hit an miss, even on the same plate. The signature dish of butterfish was delicious, but the accompanying seaweed salad and mock sushi were below par. For $41, I won't be back. Apps: Beet salad: Fantastic. Signature Spring Rolls: sent them back. Dry, flavorless filling. Tasted like they were frozen for a while.

Poke tuna was excellent. Macadamia tart was terrific. Pot stickers were OK. Fish soup was good but too tangy for my taste. Would go again. Kinda expensive.

Excellent food, with hints of Asian influence - truly "East Meets West"
