went for dinner there the other night in attempts to find a new place. I honestly did not know what to expect. Our reservations were for seven and promptly taken to our seats. The restaurant was full and I got a glimpse of Mr Tsai and I had a good feeling we were in for a unique night. Our waitress came and introduced herself to us and asked if we had any questions, and we ordered our appetizers and main entrees. I had a Cesar salad and my wife ordered the shitake mushroom rolls. (I am not fan of shashimi or any sushi) I was torn between three dishes that were offered (the pork, the steak and the fried chicken) after asking about the fried chicken I was asked if I like spicy foods and I nodded my head and it was a go for the fried chicken and my wife ordered the scallops. Her appetizer was splendid as her dipping sauce had the right hint of sourness. After a cocktail (Hibiscus fizz) our courses came to us. To say they were delicious would be an understatement as it was absolutely superb! Every bite was better than the one before. I was hooked, I could not get enough! The blending of the tastes was one of sensory overload. Color, balance, and a taste of a cleansing breath an absolute enjoyment. I thought we were going into a high classed Chinese restaurant but ended up being a taste of nirvana. The dessert we each had was once again nothing short of capital A, amazing. We will definitely be back to try the dishes we missed out on. Thousand of thank yous to Mr Tsai for this wonderful dinner!

Yesterday (1/2/2013) we were so happy to go to Blue Ginder in Wellesley for lunch by my daughter's treat of $50 gift card. However we had bad experience from uncooked Ramen Noodle which was hard to chew. This morning my wife called the manager to complain and the manager was very arrogant to reject her complaint. As a result, I write this review to share our bad experience in Blue Ginger. I will tell my daughter no more gift card from Blue Ginger to which we will not go any more. Thank you for listening.

At our request, the chef put together a fish-and-vegetables tasking menu just for us. The combinations were bold and sometimes did not seem wholly successful (the smoked tofu dish fell flat for me), but the food was overall a novel and delicious experience. The butterfish was by far the best entree, and the cardamom ice cream with flour-less chocolate cake was to die for.

I have never had a bad dinner there - it is one of my favorite places. If you are going for a full dinner, book your reservation early, as the place is always busy. They also have a kind of Tapas bar area, which does not take reservations. A friend of my wife's took her young daughter there (who I think is about 12) for her birthday because her daughter has developed an interest in cooking. Ming Tsai not only came out to autograph her cookbook, but sat with her for quite a while to talk about cooking - it was a truly memorable experience for her.

Creative and tasty dishes with excellent service. Definitely upscale, but worth the splurge. You can eat at the bar from the bar menu, which is a little more casual.

Really, really bad food! I was so surprised, as the restaurant was so highly recommended. I sat with a large party, and my experience was no fluke at the table. The house favorites were poor at best, the calamari were tiny, bland and under-fried. My pad thai was drowned in lime juice and the shitake-leek egg rolls were just grey and odd. There was no care taken when preparing my pal's panko chicken sandwich: burnt crust, spongy tomatoes and greasy chips! Just not what we expected for this amount of money... I could go on, but I'm over it. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.

Going to school in Wellesley, I have been to Blue Ginger quite a few times. I have to say my experiences have been hit or miss.Even with a reservation, we ended up waiting awhile to be seated. I like that they now have the lounge area. The food is always pretty good but the service can be lackluster and sometimes felt they did not treat paying students very well. Their butterfish dish is always amazing. I like the quinoa risotto but the dish seemed a little off. The salmon was well cooked but a little spicy. Overall for the prices the service and food should be top notch always and it isn't.
