A high percentage of patients who use products with CBD, abandons traditional medicinal drugs.

From the collaboration between HelloMD, a US community with 150 thousand users that connects patients, doctors, experts and companies on the subject of cannabis and Brightfield Group, a research and market analysis company for organizations focused on the cannabis industry, was born an important study that saw the data collection of 2500 group members on the use of CBD in the therapeutic field.

It emerged that 58% of consumers are women and prefer to use oil rich in CBD through vaporizers, followed inflorescences with a high content of CBD and then topical products and dyes. 80% explained that they use it at least once a week and 40% every day.

"We are seeing an exponential growth in the interest of products with CBD from our patient community, particularly among women," said Dr. Perry Solomon, HelloMD's medical director. "While we still have much to learn about this cannabinoid, we can not ignore the fact that most of those who use it today receive a great benefit"

But the most important factor that emerged is the one related to the change in the choice of therapies. In fact, after trying the CBD, 42% abandoned traditional medicine to embrace the exclusive use of products with a high CBD content. These are people who have to deal with insomnia, depression, anxiety, joint pain and even Crohn's disease, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis. Feedback from 80% of respondents confirmed that CBD is "very or extremely effective", having analgesic, anti-inflammatory and relaxing properties, while 3% find it "ineffective or only slightly effective".

---------------- 90% of global cannabis sales in the USA ------------
In America, the country that created prohibition against this plant since the 1930s and is now in the forefront of turning meaningless demonization into business, in 2015 the sale of therapeutic and recreational marijuana has product revenue of about $ 5.4 billion to the coffers of the US states. In 2016, the figure rose to $ 6.7 billion, an increase of more than 30%. In Colorado alone, total sales in 2016 reached 1.3 billion dollars and in 2017 exceeded one billion dollars in the first 8 months. According to the calculations of Arcview Market Research total sales in North America should exceed 20 billion dollars in 2021. This for the USA, because according to Brightfield Broup analysts at a global level, the legal marijuana market is currently valued at 7 , 7 billion dollars with a steady growth that will bring it to the figure of 34 million dollars in 2021: the study was published by Forbes with much emphasis, giving a further sign of how the times are changing fast.

According to published data, the United States currently holds 90% of global cannabis sales, but its share will fall to 57% by 2021. This is largely due to Canada's plans to legalize recreational marijuana by July 2018. In Meanwhile, countries in Latin America and Europe are increasingly adopting laws that authorize the medical use of cannabis. According to the European Cannabis Report (ECR) if every European country legalized cannabis, the cannabis market in Europe alone would be worth $ 65.4 billion. A huge figure if you think that no European country to date has launched a full legalization. Brightfield predicts that the only Spanish recreational marijuana market will be worth almost $ 206 million by 2021.

The data to better understand the phenomenon analyzed New Frontier Data in a recent report on the growth of the legal cannabis market in the United States. According to the data released by the Bureau of statistics, estimates that exceed the number of jobs created by the manufacturing sector over the next 4 years, with over 250 thousand jobs created by cannabis by 2020. "These numbers confirm that cannabis is an important economic engine and job creation engine for the American economy, "said Giadha Aguirre De Carcer, founder and CEO of New Frontier Data. "While we see a potential decline in the total number of jobs created in the US in 2017, in addition to an expected overall decline in GDP growth, the cannabis industry continues to be a positive growth factor at a time of potential decline . We anticipate that the growth of the cannabis sector may be slowed to a certain extent over the next three to five years, yet it remains a positive economic force in the United States. "

And while the states that legalize cannabis for recreational use increase, so do sales of psychoactive food products that are considered by entrepreneurs to be the product to bet on. In California alone, consumers have swallowed over $ 180 million of marijuana food and drink in 2016, 10% of the state's cannabis sales, again according to Arcview. Sales of these items ranging from sweets to jellies, through lollipops and dozens of different products, increased by 121% last year in the state of Washington, according to the cannabis analysis company Headset Inc. And since the Colorado initially allowed the recreational use of marijuana, sales have tripled from $ 17 million in the first quarter of 2014 to 53 million in the third quarter of 2016. The reason for the explosive growth is that the cannabis market is starting to reach even non-smokers. And since they can be sold at higher prices, edible products often account for between 25% and 60% of the profits of dispensaries.

In the meantime, Canada is preparing to launch full legalization for 2018. Retailers are preparing to start selling legal marijuana in July, so times could be tight. According to recent estimates of Marijuana Business Daily, annual sales for the Canadian recreational marijuana market could reach a figure of between 2.3 and 4.5 billion dollars by 2021. Meanwhile, after the request of a system for tracking Sales arrived from the Governor of British Columbia, IBM proposed the idea of โ€‹โ€‹using a blockchain to govern the phenomenon. This is the use of digital and encrypted systems, brought to the fore by Bitcoin, which can be used as a payment platform or as a tool to create digital money. "The relevance of cannabis blockchain is similar to its many applications in areas such as pharmaceutical and food distribution," IBM wrote in his presentation explaining that: "The core of these blockchains is the same and ensures the health and safety of consumers, preventing fraud and counterfeiting and at the same time creating a transparent market on which to base regulation ".

Meanwhile, Canadian companies are entering the medical cannabis markets of Latin America and Europe, considered restrictive by economic analysts who tend to favor cannabis oils. "The brand loyalty of an oil is not as strong as the loyalty of the brand to an edible," said Brightfield group research director Bethany Gomez emphasizing that: "A change in federal regulations would allow US companies to be able to recover also in the medical cannabis market ยป. The global market for therapeutic cannabis was valued at 12 billion dollars in 2016 with an annual growth rate of 18%.
