On something of an audiobook trip at present. Specifically, the books of Jon Ronson, as narrated by Jon Ronson. So far I have "read" (ie listened to) So You've Been Publicly Shame, Frank, The Psychopath Test and Them (Note: all bought either via iTunes store or Audible). I would get The Men Who Stare At Goats, only I can't find a version with Jon Ronson narrating it himself (he narrates all of the other ones). But that's kind of okay by me as I've read that one for real already.

Any other great author-read audiobooks that you guys can recommend for me to check out would be great!

2015: My Year of Books
Sometime ago (in about 2011 in fact) I decided to start writing a book. The idea was one that I'd had long before, I've always enjoyed writing. But one day I saw a TED Talk on the subject of creating something lasting in 30 days, or something along those li...

Conjunction of the Moment
2 small dots on a digital screen. But within that cluster of pixels is held Venus and Jupiter. Earth's twin and the solar system's bodyguard. Astronomers say the Jupiter and Venus show could account for the "Star of Bethlehem", merging into a single point. ...

This Sentence Has Five Words
“This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some...

Great Liars = Great Writers
I had a brain wave a few years ago, to write a book. It wasn't a new idea really, I have often thought about how I could write something and have my name written along the spine of a novel that sat on a bookshelf. The idea came back to me some time in 2011,...

Quote of the Day: Self Control
“You may control a mad elephant; You may shut the mouth of the bear and the tiger; Ride the lion and play with the cobra; By alchemy you may learn your livelihood; You may wander through the universe incognito; Make vassals of the gods; be ever youthful; Yo...

In My Life
I often find myself thinking about the following. "In his 1980 Playboy interview with David Sheff, John Lennon said he probably had an original (presumably home) tape of "In My Life." John's memory wasn't always faultless, but in the same answer, he also re...

Saturnian Stalagmites, Batman!
I have long been a great fan of the rings of Saturn. I can't get enough information about them, and if you're like me (sure you are!) right now is a great time of discovery with regards to the ringed planet, with new information being present to the world a...
