After spending a cold afternoon on Alcatraz Island, we were looking for a warm restaurant close to Pier 33 and en route to our hotel. We stopped in at this empty restaurant hoping for hot meal and nothing else. We had an unexpected surprise. My mom had the Kalua Pork with Butter Lettuce Cups, sweet Hoisin BBQ Sauce, Toasted Cashews, and Scallions. Yummy! I had the SesameTuna with a Tempura Onion Ring and Scallop Stir Fry. It was sushi grade tuna that was mild and delicious. Melt in your mouth! We topped it off with the skillet chocolate chip cookie with mint chocolate ice cream. A tasty sweet combination. We were pleasantly surprised! Attentive waiter and additional staff. It was a great ending to my birthday.

We had a reservation for 8:30pm. When we arrived we were lucky to be placed on a special table facing the water. This turned out to be a mistake as nobody came to the table for 15+ minutes. Waiters kept walking past us without ever stopping. We eventually caved and asked the hostess for our waiter. With that out of the way, the waiter came out and told us they were closing the kitchen and to put an order in immediately. With all these issues out of the way we finally got our food which was fantastic (the Poke was amazing). Overall the service was horrible and ruined the whole experience. It is a shame as this place has such good food! I will never nor will I reccomend anybody to come to this restaurant.

First time here for Sunday Brunch. Had the House-Smoked Salmon Benedict. It was fantastic. Had a bay. Very friendly staff, I will eat here again. I was very surprised that this restaurant was not busier given its location, but I would prefer this place over any of the "fine" eateries in Fisherman's Wharf.

Tourist trap along the water. Great views but horribly slow service and just ok food.

In short, we had a truly awful dining experience at Butterfly. Perhaps we should have been clued in to the subpar quality of this establishment when we noticed that the restaurant was nearly deserted when we arrived at 8pm. Hoping to start things off with a flavor from the islands in the form of tuna sashimi poke, we were roundly disappointed by the dish. It was served with deep fried rice, a flavorless pile of avacodo, sprinklings of parmesean chesse, and poor quality tuna. It was a culinary disaster. This was followed with a seafood curry chowder that was equally disappointing. Old and bad tasting clams, tiny bland shrimp, nearly raw chunks of potato, and a lump of bread plopped down in the middle of the bowl. That was all we could handle as my wife became sick from the bad seafood.

This is regarding the review for the night club on 10/31. We have sign up online and were waiting in the line for more than an hour. While in line, we were told that we are on guest list and given a stamp on hand. But when we got into the front of the counter, they didn't honor it. A waste of time. Bad service.

A little on the pricey side for what you get, but the food was good. Nice location if you are going to or coming back from the Alcatraz cruise.
