I was stuck in this very elevator with a workmate for over 2 hrs in Oct 1990. We arrived at work at 9am & spent the morning being randomly shot to the top floor, then suddenly dropped to the garage with no warning. When it did stop long enough to allow the doors to be pried open, we'd discover either our feet were head level with our would-be rescuers, so we had to lie on our stomachs & look down to talk to them, or that our heads were level with their feet so we had to stand on tippy-toes & look up while they lay on the floor. Even when they managed to open the doors, we couldn't risk letting them help us climb up/down & out because after 1-2 minutes it would suddenly shoot off to another floor.
It's great to see the building owners have taken advantage of almost two & a half decades of technology since then to fix this spectacularly crap elevator.
