Productivity’s Senior Partner, Catherine Converset, will speak at the fall 2018 Iowa Lean Consortium Conference.

The event, being held October 23-25 at the Sheraton West Des Moines, will bring together Lean leaders and practitioners eager to share perspectives on how they are using Lean methods to change their culture while striving for operational excellence. Catherine, will deliver a breakout session as well as a workshop, here is a quick summary of her session topics:

Workshop, October 23rd –
Lean in Support Services - Deploying a true company-wide strategy of excellence and mobilizing employees to create a customer-centric organization

Most industrial companies have been engaging in Lean activities in their manufacturing operation for several years and their efforts have paid off with increases in product reliability, reductions in lead times and in overall costs. But chances are the gains achieved in manufacturing are being offset by inefficiencies in other organizational functions. To get the most from your Lean effort, it is imperative that all company functions – HR, R&D, Finance, Marketing, IT, etc. - challenge their processes. In this case-based and interactive workshop, Catherine follow’s one organization’s Lean journey – from issues to outcomes – demonstrating how the principles of Lean can be applied in all departments to make a positive impact up and down the extended value chain.

Break-out Session, October 24th –
Why Hoshin Kanri (Policy Deployment), a Key Pillar of your Lean Management System, is critical in deploying a True Company-Wide Strategy of Excellence

Central to a Lean Management system is Hoshin Kanri, a method for ensuring that an organization’s strategic goals drive progress and action at every level of the organization. The fundamental purposes of Hoshin Kanri in a Lean enterprise is to focus a company’s improvement efforts on very well defined initiatives to align and mobilize SBU’s, plants, departments, and all supporting personnel in the transformation process. In this session, Catherine will present this proven business renewal planning and deployment process which allows you to incorporate your strategic priorities into daily work at every level in your organization.

Send us an email if you are going to be at the event. Catherine would enjoy the opportunity to meet you. If you can’t attend, but want to know more about either of the topics, please email or give us a call 203-225-0451.
