We've just released Brackets 1.2 with a bunch of enhancements including SVG code hints, CSS color name hints, and Dart syntax highlighting. We've also made it easier to use the experimental, multi-browser Live Preview (File->Enable Experimental Live Preview) as well as added experimental support for drag-and-drop selected text.

I like how easy it is to use brackets. I just discovered it this week and my first impressions have been, Wow! brackets rocks. I am using it for a small website project and it is straight forward and easy to use. I like how the design of it is not clutters with buttons, toolbars, panes etc..

Hey, no. This is not possible, since the extraction happens on the server side in the creative cloud.

Release 43 is out with some awesome features. We've got an improved dark mode, themes now show up in their own tab in the extension manager, and the biggie: LESS and Sass (SCSS) support for Quick Edit, Live Highlight, and Quick Find! You'll now be able to use those Brackets features on your preprocessor projects.
The team has been busy polishing the exterior of Brackets for our upcoming Max release so we're packing some of Brackets' existing features with a little extra love in this release. SCSS/LESS support. Remember when the Quick Edit and Quick Find Definition features were first introduced but they ...

Brackets 1.1 is available from brackets.io. We packed a lot of features and bug fixes into this release.

Here is a short list of features:
- Available to Try: Live Preview Support for Multiple Browsers - This is disabled by default and needs to be enabled with `livedev.multibrowser` preference. Live Preview will open in default browser. You can copy/paste url to any other browser. All browsers will be updated simultaneously.
- Improved Support for Typing Accented Letters with AltGr - This Release fixes conflicts between Brackets' own shortcuts and several keyboard layouts (on Windows).
- Improved Stability - Brackets core objects use a new event-listener API that protects against misbehaved extensions.
- File Type-Specific Preferences - Preferences can now be configured via the `language` layer.
- Improved Typing Performance with Code Hints - The list of code hints is now limited to 50 entries so that it's displayed faster. This can be overridden with new `maxCodeHints` preference.
- Selectively enable Linters via Preferences - Linter execution and order can now be configured per project.

This is only the top of the list. Get your copy today from http://brackets.io. Let us know what you think. We'd like to hear your feedback. Thank you.

Happy Holidays!

The deb doesn't work on Debian stable. Brackets requires at least glibc 2.14, but wheezy ships 2.13. Is there any way to fix that without upgrading to testing?

We're getting ready to declare Brackets 1.0 in the next couple of weeks! Find out about the 1.0 release and our post-1.0 plans.
It's been almost 3 years since the first commit for Brackets landed. In that time we've gone from a small project to one of the most popular repositories on GitHub and what we think is the best code editor for web designers and front end developers. We're excited to see that a lot of you agree!
