Nobody likes to talk about weight issues but being overweight or obese is a big deal for a cat.

I certainly agree with Stanley that we have a country full of overweight cats whose problems need to be addressed. But I have to add to the suggestion of eat less and exercise more. It's important to eat the RIGHT diet. Cats are carnivores and most people are feeding their cats commercial foods that are way too high in carbs. For the past year and a half, I have been feeding my own cats a low carb diet as well as advising my clients to do the same and the reduction in weight and increase in good health has been phenomenal. I recommend that all cat owners become aware of the amount of carbs they are feeding their cats. If you do that, weight loss becomes easy.
