And I thought Global Warming was an application of the Bandwagon fallacy.
Human logic, unlike that of the machines which we program and use every day, isn't perfect.  We make mistakes, we establish bad mental habits, and we have many cognitive biases that negatively impact our ability to be success...

I think trying to characterize all global warming deniers as falling prey to one cognitive bias is a mistake.  Depending on the situation and the person, it could easily be one of number of biases.

If someone is in a community where all of their friends deny global warming, they might just go along with it because of the Bandwagon Effect.

If someone is watching talking heads discuss global warming, and one of them tries to cast doubt by talking about how scientists are always predicting dire scenarios that rarely come to pass, then they might nod sagely in agreement because of Negativity Bias.

When someone is already a global warming denier, they will focus disproportionately on evidence that supports their belief because of Confirmation Bias.  An example might be a graph showing the cyclical nature of climate on Earth over the past few million years.  Confirmation Bias might cause these people to believe that the current state of warming is just part of a natural cycle.
