Great ride thru the mountains and on the BR Parkway in an Outrider - electrically assisted recumbent that does 40 MPH!

Excellent!  The electrical assist only "assists" after the legs kick in!

Loved everything about our stay here. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were fantastic. The breakfasts were the best meals we had each day- croissant French toast, pumpkin spice yogurt parfait, vegetable frittata, etc. The house is within walking distance of downtown- about 10 or 15 minutes. Downtown had some nice restaurants and shops, breweries and bars. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

A two night stay at the Beaufort House changed my entire outlook on a vacation. The house is nothing less than extraordinary. Our room was perfect (The Ivy Terrace). I overlooked a small detail on making reservations at the Biltmore and Jim and Chris' bookkeeper assured me she would take care of it and she did just that. After dinner that night and a peaceful nights rest we awoke to a delicious breakfast and coffee. We had wine with the Innkeepers, Jim and Chris, on our second night. After the Christmas Evening at the Biltmore curling up in a blanket on the porch put the icing on the cake. If you are considering a B&B in the Asheville area, I would not recommend anywhere else. We will be returning in the spring. Matt

We had a wonderful time staying here, the proprietors are very friendly and the house is a real treat. Great history and convenient to downtown.

We rented the Garden Room and it was great (price was about $275 for the night). The staff were also very helpful with advice on places to eat and attractions to visit. Breakfast was excellent as well -- we had a cherry parfait and peach crepes. The house itself is beautiful with a wrap around porch on the front with rocking chairs and a nice sized lawn and garden. We will stay here again on our next visit to Asheville.

If you're looking for a relaxing, friendly place to stay in Asheville, you can't go wrong with the Beaufort House Inn. It has everything you would expect from a great B&B — spotless rooms, elegant decor, fascinating history, great amenities, and comfortable places to relax throughout — but its best feature is the wonderful staff. Jim and Chris seemed like old friends five minutes after we arrived, and every member of the staff bent over backwards to ensure we had a great time. The breakfasts were absolutely wonderful — something different every day, and all of it delicious. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and highly recommend the Beaufort House Inn!

Beaufort House Inn joyfully met all of our expectations. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that after a couple of hours we decided to extend our stay another day. The staff was helpful with acquiring reservations at restaurants and directed us to several good hiking locales near Asheville. The sheets were the most comfortable that I have ever slept on in my entire life. This was the perfect retreat after spending two weeks visiting relatives and friends on the East Coast. And the breakfasts were divine!

I hate to rain on the parade, but while the house, grounds and staff were great, we had issues. First, we had to throw ourselves against the door to our room to open it. Second, our room was mostly bed. Another reviewer obviously stayed in the same room and commented on the fact that the picture of the room had been taken with a fish-eye lense. Third, the bathroom is poorly designed. The toilet and tub are on a raised platform that I found myself walking into constantly. The shower in the sauna tub is mounted in such a way that you practically break your back trying to get your hair wet. There is nowhere to put anything on the sink, since it is a pedestal. This made it very difficult to put on makeup, dry my hair, etc. Finally, no one told us that breakfasts would be vegetarian. Vegetable crepes are not breakfast fare in my book.
