Hold it a minute. As we're trying to ban paper from life (but interestingly, not banning wooden building materials or furniture) -- we're forgetting that part of the point was to stop cutting down trees and destroying rain forests for individual short-term profit.  Looking at recyclable solar cells (or solar paint) is great if non-toxic to life -- but tree solar cells? Is this not some kind of oxymoron? Happily -- it says "other plants" can be used for organic recyclable solar cells as well.

Question: Is it time to start asking "sublayer" questions about our recycling innovations?  Look at the effects 7 generations out?  What will this do to the organic source of the raw material in question? Can the increased electricity around human bodies increase harmful EMFs? Plastic -- is oil; plastic bottles can be turned back into petroleum; all those plastic bags destroying oceans and filling landfills are petroleum based -- while we have $4 gas. The only people who can "call our act" is us. By daily choice of INCONVENIENCE and compassion for a planet & its future citizens (human, animal, plants, sea/water life, birds) 1000 years from now.

Social Working/Bonding Conundrum: The Yahoo CEO move to bring all the workers back to the office instead of working at home...to energize team bonding and passion is getting a lot of backlash but also thumbs ups! And a more likely scenario is described today at "Life Edited" -- called "Why Your Office Will Disappear" --  but it's REALLY about "co-working spaces" which are popping up everywhere for innovators... and in some cases I think the "AirBNB" for offices will also take off.

On the other hand, I set up libraries and had an office full of books, reports, current tech magazines, at both Merrilll & AT&T Wireless--and it did become a gathering place for new idea brainstorming!  It's just that the "new idea brainstorming" may not take place in old gen beige/glass/cement office buildings any more.  Most interesting new trends!  Since cubicles, well, just can't GET any tinier... http://www.lifeedited.com/why-your-office-will-disappear/?

"What If Farmers Made House Calls" from Treehugger... http://www.treehugger.com/lawn-garden/what-if-farmers-made-house-calls.html is about Lawns front and back becoming gardens in our times...   Most farmers I know are actually way too busy to come and do your gardens for you or even teach food gardening.  Being a niche in the making I predict that some who don't want to run a working farm may shift gears and fill this need--as more of us awaken to the Revolutionary Act of Growing Your Own Food...  Farmers-to-Go or Grow-Your-Own-Food Consultants (including company sites)...is coming.  I thoroughly enjoyed a small $2.69 organic cucumber yesterday and thought that as healthy food prices ascend, growing your own food as a value skill and consulting niche will increase. And bans on front lawn gardens will disappear... Art mixed with such gardens, however, is likely to increase as another area of "foodscape" design...

The Sharing Economy...AirBNB (for renting out a spare room -- or a spare office or desk at the same site, a kind of OfficeBNB)-- and all the many derivations... is coming quicker and quicker, more and more creatively. People earning a living anew, simply renting what they have to others if they don't need it all the time...  Because of successes with Air BNB and the creation of new lifestyles more is appearing. Life Edited profiles a Nasdaq of the sharing economy...  One way or another, we will all soon be part of it...  http://www.lifeedited.com/the-nasdaq-of-sharing-economy/?utm_source=LifeEdited+Newsletter&utm_campaign=823e1bae7c-The_Nasdaq_of_Sharing_Economy3_13_2013&utm_medium=email

The Graduate Academy London, popped up on Lost in EMinor...distinguished by mentors...but more hand-made-with-natural-substances and not just digital/electronics could be integrated.  I can't touch or smell the art inside a computer nor feel it the same way as art created "from scratch." Something like home-made-from-scratch food... It tastes/feels different to brain and body...  We need to mentor minds that can do both...  http://www.lostateminor.com/2013/03/13/graduate-academy-do-you-have-what-it-takes-to-join/

If you have girls who are your children or grandchildren -- this book is a great gift and the flier tells you more about why.  As a young girl, if I'd had this book about a woman who sets out to build her own house, it would have inspired me about "building" things!  At first it seemed impossible and everyone told her "No!" But she persevered through every step of building it. Kids learn the vocabulary and ins and outs of constructing a house on your own with fun illustrations. They also get inspired about turning their own stories into books...

If you have children or grandchildren, this is my favorite new children's book to inspire learning to "build" your dreams:  Seattle/Whidbey artist Jody Bone's "The Little House That Grew."  Buy at Amazon in print edition or as a Kindle book: http://www.amazon.com/The-Little-House-that-Grew/dp/146695857X.
