What are your thoughts on the First Steps to take when starting your financial literacy journey? Mine are:
1) Set Goals
2) Track your spending, savings, and income
3) Open an online savings account
4) Contribute to your 401k to get (at least) your employer's match
5) Build an emergency fund

What about everyone else???

I posted those thoughts in more detail here...

Hello G+! Just wanted to let everyone know that I am going to start a bi-monthly personal finance email newsletter. I'm going to start with the very basics and cover everything I possibly can. And it's perfect - sometimes I am passing along first-hand experience as I am sorting through issues. A fair warning though: Other random thoughts and ramblings might get included. But they're for the good, I promise! Send me those emails!

I'd love to have a discussion about your personal finance situation. Have you started saving and investing yet? If no, why not?

This article should be read by everyone, regardless of your beliefs. It is written by someone who is a non-Catholic and does not follow Catholic beliefs on contraception, but it brings out the main issue that Obama has created by releasing this law - the government is the ultimate authority concerning every aspect of people's lives, thereby rendering the principles that our nation was founded upon moot.

Story
Introduction
I enjoy a mug of Earl Gray tea in the afternoons. I'm an investing geek. I love new ideas and brainstorming solutions for problems. New businesses intrigue me and I always have an eye open for opportunities.

I am a huge proponent of having personal financial knowledge. People don't understand money basics anymore.

Circle me and I guarantee we could have some quality discussions about life, love, the pursuit of happiness, and the Oxford comma.
