Data breaches at companies are expensive and embarrassing. Why did they happen in the past, and why will they keep happening?

Music Monday
Track: The Burning Down
Artist - Album: King's X - Gretchen Goes To Nebraska
YouTube Link: https://youtu.be/7zkItKueuEc

This week’s share took a bit of a turn into left field. I haven’t paid any attention to King’s X in the past, but just listened to their 1989 album Gretchen Goes To Nebraska. I found myself putting the last song on the album on repeat, and so decided to share it here. Give it a try, and see if you do the same.

Music Monday
Track: All My Friends Who Play Guitar
Artist - Album: Starflyer 59 - Leave Here A Stranger
YouTube Link: http://youtu.be/mkBFDypYuAw

Haven’t put out any classic shoegaze rock in my Music Monday posts in almost a year. Time to remedy that situation. Hadn’t listened to this album in quite a while, and it came back on my radar recently. Still as good as ever.

The whole album is themed around being in a band; hence song titles like Can You Play Drums? and When I Learn To Sing.

The whole album is worth a listen, really. Enjoy.

Remembering James Doohan
The passing of Leonard Nimoy made me think of another Star Trek cast member: James Doohan. And he had a posthumous birthday as well on March 3. So Happy posthumous birthday to my all-time favorite Star Trek character actor, who was born 95 years ago today!

He was 85 when he passed away; it’s been 10 years since his passing.

Now i’m going to have to go watch Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home again. So much fun!

Artist - Album: Rancid - ...And Out Come the Wolves
YouTube Link: http://youtu.be/DhKHAopx7D0

I’ve been away from these posts for a few weeks. It’s nice to be back. Might as well come back with something LOUD!

Why sing a song, anyway, when you can sneer your way through it? :-)

Google Contacts Update
You can see the new Contacts preview here: https://contacts.google.com/preview/

First thoughts:
* It's about a year and a half too late, but whatever. It was still needed.

* The website is no longer an afterthought. Nice. Maybe more trending in this direction? I know I would appreciate a robust contacts page AWAY from Gmail. Gmail is too bloated as it is.

* There's a dedicated "Find duplicates" menu option, which is good, because Google does a great job at making duplicates I didn't want, request or even MAKE. Seriously, over half the merges were from duplicate contacts I either didn't make or were separated from the main contact by Google itself. How does that happen?

* It's now easier to do group actions like move people in and out of groups and Circles. Nice.

* The UI in general looks sleek, FINALLY. Up to date with the rest of Google.

More later...

Horrible phone service. All I did was call about hours of business, and I got an extremely curt, snippy answer from Tom. He's as bad as everyone else who reviewed him says. Don't give him any business! Drive further to another location. I know I will.

Had a good experience at this bank. It was busy when I went, but they handled triage well, and I was helped as soon as a person was available. The staff was professional and answered all my questions. Good bank.
