I'm cautiously optimistic the new Netgear LB2120 - LTE failover/failback device is doing its job with a Google Fi sim card. It pings an IP or website to determine if wireline is Up, and will SMS notify when it switches to backup LTE connection, or back to wireline. Also SMS notify on usage limits. Its a very interesting device.

A reminder than "Summer is coming" > they used glass microbeads in a clear paint to passively increase Infared Radiation from objects heated by the Sun as wavelength converters and retroReflectors - cheaply

Busby Harris - The answer is yes. You can just assume the DSL Modem has joined the Ethernet broadcast zone and assign any TCP/IP address you like to a PC that is plugged into the Ethernet port on the DSL Modem. I would however recommend you set up a Syslog server on the ZyXel Ethernet management side to watch the stages as the DSL modem connects and sets up the virtual Ethernet bridge between the DSL modem and the ZyXel DSLAM (but that is optional). There is an Excellent freeware Syslog server called SL4NT (Syslog For NT) that comes as a minimal service available and logs to the Windows Event log.. or you can use Syslog with Linux. SL4NT also has a full featured version for real money that also has a real time Telnet server built in for Windows.. which is frankly freakin awesome. So much so I bought a real license for the full featured version. -- The "KEY" to using the ZyXel is to recognize the DSL ports are [ALL] isolated into their own separate individual VLANs by default.. You "Must" join the Ethernet Management port (or enable/admit) the ZyXel Ethernet Management port to the specific DSL ports you want to share traffic. Otherwise "none" of the Ethernet traffic from the DSL ports will reach the ZyXel Ethernet port, and none of the traffic through the ZyXel Ethernet mangement port will reach the DSL ports bridge Ethernet interface. Its a default security measure and understandable... just not intuitive.

Understanding the Sunplus Burn File format for updating the firmware on the Czur ET16 scanner, and many action cameras.

Mars - all those sublimated river flows in craters, make a Dome over them seem like the best way to start a natural Greenhouse. As moisture rises heat and pressure should rise as well. And water is a great radiation shield, just look at water cooled nuclear reactors on Earth. Dug out deep as they are.. I would also think colonies hugging the cliff walls would have better protection from micro-meteroids. A Dome/bubble could start down oneside and be extended by cranes gradually over time in ever enlarging cycloids using geodesic construction recycling dome materials until the entire thing is covered, escalating the construction project from a wall/dome torus ring around the crater walls to a full hemispheric dome in time. In the mean time the center of the crater would make an excellent spaceport like an urban downtown equidistant to many smaller colony projects.. there might even be maglev "spokes" from the center to the urban districts less than a mile or so away. (at first) merely for unpressurize cargo transport from/to ships then later pressurized for human cargo. Any crater Peaks would make a good communications complex for both off planet and inter colony communications, even as a control tower for monitoring and directing traffic around the crater districit. -- I suppose a center Peak could also collect solar energy, and or relay sunlight with mirrors to a colony along the crater walls to enhance daylight hours.. especially during the winter. -- added bonus, meteor strikes are known to have high metal content, so perfect for mining operations without a lot of prospecting. Aluvial flows, from the canyon walls will have differentially separated out lighter elements making mining for those less energy demanding. (plus or minus) if there are any archiac microbes leftover from in invitro years on Mars they would have probably lasted the longest against canyon walls preferentially facing the sun underneath sublimating water falls.
