What a very interesting article this is.  I have always thought that bitcoin is a total waste of time.  But now one has the choice: Which entity do you trust to manage the currency: (a) your national government or (b) an anonymous and totally unaccountable group of Russian bitcoin miners.

Are other people able to get the comic strip desktop widget to work?  It doesn't seem to be making .desktop files for me anymore, and so newly downloaded strips can't be chosen.  Already existing strips are still working fine.

I smoked pot with David Brooks - best thing I have read all year

It's the Microsoft shareholders who should be crying.  Maybe as his last act as MSFT CEO he can arrange for Elop to carry the torch.

My wife's S3 was running out of battery every day - made us both insane.  I got her a 7000 mA-h battery from Zero Lemon.  Problem solved.  (Can you see it?  The photo shows 4d 4h 40m 0s on battery with 13% remaining.)

It's like the old days when you charged your little dumb phone twice a week.

Does the comic strip desktop widget work for people?  For me it won't create .desktop files and so won't display any new comic strips, just the ones I already have.

After the kubuntu update of this morning, my IM Contacts manager is not working.  Are others seeing this?  It seems to sort-of start, but won't display any contacts.  If I close it, it will not re-open.

Until I updated my nvidia driver, I would get this weird patterns on my screen when I resumed from suspend.

The 319 driver fixes it, but it was sort of cool.

The phone ran another entire day... Was at 3% last night and I finally set the screen to stay on so it would run all the way down.  (zerolemon wants a full cycle the first 5 or 6 times.)  It charged to 100% overnight, so that wasn't a problem either.

This looks pretty good.  As I still hear so many complaints about Unity (which I haven't used much and so don't have much of an opinion of) I always wonder why KDE and Kubuntu haven't captured more people's imagination
